Picked up a single at the Downtown Wine and Gourmet in Harrisonburg, VA on 9-19 for $3.99. Bottled on 8-13-13.

Beer poured copper with a nice white head that is leaving some lacing behind.

Nose is citrus city with hints of caramel malt and rye.

Taste has a nice caramel malt backing with a nice citrus and rye spiced finish.

Mouthfeel is moderately carbonated, medium bodied, and refreshing.

Overall this is an excellent beer, i have found i really enjoy rye infused brews...definitely try it if you have the chance!

A- Pours a deep copper with some mahogany, ruby, and tangerine accents. Solid light tan head of 1.5 fingers with nice staying power. Impressive lacing that coats the glass. One of my favorite styles when it comes to appearance.

S- Intense orange citrus. Some mango is not to be outdone. Touch of breadyness and grain, but the hops do most of the talking. More spry than most of the beers I have had of this style. Hints of medicinal herbs.

T- Sweet and hoppy up front with the citrus and earthy line. Finds a nice balance with the rye addition in the mid to back end. Toasted bread that is almost charred, but spot on for the profile. Covers so many aspects and flows so well. The rye really gives it a "raw" character that helps it to stand out from many other reds and pales.

M- Light carbonation, mid body that is about right, touch of dryness. Some booze could be detected, but I think its more of the sweetness level of this one coming through.

O- creamy, juicy, hops, spice, toasted character...this one has it all, and it finds a way to come together at the right time. One of my favorite of the style.
