Bottled on 12/14/15. 12oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours a transparent copper with a fluffy white head that sticks around leaving great retention and very sticky lacing. Looks great. The aromas are very nice. It has a tropical vibe. Lots of fresh pear and mango. The flavors follow the nose. More pear along with hints of pineapple. Some caramel malts in the mix, but the hops shine. There's also some pine needles in the mix as well. It finishes clean and the alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is very nice. It's medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's very light and fluffy. Very smooth stuff.

This is a nice IPA from Founders. It's not aggressive, but balanced. Well crafted and it's very enjoyable. Well done.

I tried this on tap at the penn hotel in Hershey PA, enjoyed chilled in a pint.

The color is a golden shade with good clarity and thick beige light head with lace that clings in a film. The smell of hops is lush with tropical almost pineapple-like and mild herbal citrus aroma with slight honey-like aroma with peppery accent. The feel is smooth with malt base and tangy fruity and spicy hop blend of textures with medium high carbonation and slight bitter middle with mostly dry finish.

The taste of hops is drenching this ale with tropical and spicy flavors with a light herbal quality and juicy mildly tropical hop profile with a sweet malt base and subtle toast support with pineapple-like flavor with herbal comb that is delicious and has a dry spicy finish with light alcohol in the back.

Bottled 12-14-15. Poured a tawny copper with foamy persistent off white head. Obvious grapefruit spicy aroma with an herbal note and tastes of citrus/orange and pear or peach fruitiness and a malty carmelness. Somewhat sticky with ample carbonation in the mouth. Finishes with a piney hoppy tartness and a lingering spiciness. Really complex and interesting.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Duvel tulip. Bottled on date is 12/14/15.

Look -- An aggressive pour gives three fingers of khaki head with a medium amber body. The head retention and lacing is good.

Smell -- Herbal, resin, citrus, starfruit and a general tropical fruit quality comes through in the nose with a hint of underlying dankness.

Taste -- Significant bitterness, dank, and starfruit again with some malt sweetness. The citrus doesn't appear on the tongue as it does on the nose. A mild malt sweetness underlies and balances everything. Also little tartness comes through.

Feel -- Nice medium carbonation and body provide a very IPA mouthfeel. Nice and satisfying.

Overall -- The first IPA I've had where I expected tropical notes form the hops and it delivered. The armor is a pure delight and I wish I could get it as a candle. I wish the citrus quality came through on the taste.
