A. Pours a clear reddish copper with a half finger of light tan head. Decent lacing.

S. Caramel malt, biscuit, pine needles, strong grass and herbal notes, heavy dankness, weed, fresh onion.

T. Sweet caramel malt then a massive burst of bitter, herbal, and tropical zest. A fair amount of booze burn and lots of hop spice.

M. Good balance of malt and hop up front, but finish goes a little wild on alcohol and spicy hops.

O. I like it more than I remember when I first tried it 2 years ago. Back then, it was an onion bomb. Now, it has quite a bit more balance, almost like a super amped up Nugget Nectar. Reminds me quite a bit of a strong amber, with a prominent caramel malt creaminess to combat the super aggressive hops. And boy are they aggressive. These aren't your tropical, fruity hops. These are tongue blistering, dank weed, slightly oniony, herbs in the garden hops. And they're pretty darn tasty at that. A hop beast through and through, Devil Dancer dances its way across the palate leaving a searing trail in its wake.

look: 4 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.75 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5

Appearance: deep orange, almost red color. a finger of an off white head that fades pretty quickly and leaves a pretty strong lacing. moderate haze too it and almost opaque

Smell: lots of alcohol and hops with an underlying sweetness. alcohol can be fairly astringent. hops range from pine to citrus to spicey and resiny. malts barely peek through with some caramel sweetness.

Taste: starts of with a little crystal and caramel sweetness. quickly cut by the rest of the taste, hops and alcohol again. alcohol ranges from mild to astringent. hops come in dank with flavors of pine, citrus, resin.

Mouthfeel: bitter but nothing too overpowering. alcohol is astringent and hot, but if treated properly it comes off well.pretty big body for a dipa

Overall: I prefer big sipping beers to ipas and this give a good alternative to each, great big strong beer flavor with plenty of hops, alcohol works well through out. wonderful beer.

7-24-15 - Poured from a bottle into my DFH IPA glass. One of the 51 beers my sister-in-law got me for my birthday. Triple (?) IPA. 100+ ibu's. Awesome. Wish I had more.
