A--This one pours with as much head as you want, and probably more. I must have had a little too much force behind mine because there was a fluffy white head up 3/4 of the glass. And it takes forever to recede, had to wait a bit just to pour the rest of the 12 oz's. Golden yellow with carbonation bubbles racing quickly to the top. Tons of lacing.

S--Subtle mix of citrus and earthy hops with some banana and clove mixed in.

T--I don't know...this one just kind of tastes empty. It is not unpleasant by any means, but it is almost as if I'm drinking an air bubble. Gonna let this warm up for a few minutes....okay, now things are getting petter. Clean hop taste with almost no bitterness to follow. Pretty good, awesome with a pizza.

M--Nothing of note...maybe a little carbonation sting on the throat but pretty much par for the style

D--Great for a session, the hop burps come quickly and are just as tasty as the beer. Could put back the 4 pack of this very easily. This might be a great introduction to craft beer, but not something I would pursue.

Given to me as an extra recently I was very happy to get this one as I missed out buying a four pack a couple weeks ago. Served cold and poured into a pint glass, I enjoyed this one after mowing the lawn on 04/04/2009.

The pour was very nice with a rich light amber in color. Nice small haze to it and lots of carbonation was apparent as it bubbled up to the surface. Huge foamy head of white made me pour this one several times to get it all in the glass and left tons of sticky lace on the insides. Tons of hops here as I lean in for the first whiff. Pineapple and orange zest, hints of lemon, very fresh and very bright, this was exactly what I would have wanted it to be. Smooth, delicous, and rediculously drinkable this very bright ale was a wonderfully refreshing drink as I relaxed from a long day in the yard. Crisp hop bite and a really nice long drawn out finish here made this one of the best session ales I have had in a long time.

Overall solid from top to bottom and one of the highlights for me in a long weekend of new beers. I would go for this one on a warm day anytime without hesitation,

Pours a quite foggy orange gold with a thinner light creme head. Nose is pungent pine and salty hops. Flavor is quite salty and intense. Not precisely the "wet-hopped" characters I would expect, but really: how wet can the hops be upon delivery to Michigan? Not hatin', just sayin'. On the powerfully salty hops with minor pine tones there seems like some obliterated lemon tang as well. Feel is smooth and slightly thick on liquid and the carbonation is middle of the road. This is super hoppy and I can dig it. But the label says "wet-hopped ale" and I would have never guessed so in a blind taste test.

Light orange/gold pour with an almost white head that settles quickly but clings to the glass like a merengue might..

Pinetree Smell with hops and oranges/citrus

Very clean taste,,,dry almost like a spakling wine..super carbonated almost bites the tongue

Citrus and Hop flavor lingers on the tongue after each sip...

Very very refreshing

Bottle courtesy of mreusch. Pours a super cloudy dull orange with a huge, foamy white head. Aroma of tons of citrusy hops as well as floral hops and a touch of sweet pineapple and wheaty malt. Flavor is sweet and fruity, not very hoppy really. Quite delicious! I wish I could get this stuff all the time!

Color: sits a somewhat cloudy gold. tried not to pour the yeast

Smell: very crisp citrus and pine aroma. tiny bit of malt

Taste: lots of citrus and pine hops. not t very bitter though. some malt sweetness and yeast. somewhat dry finish

Mouthfeel: low-med body. lots of carbonation. thought i poured a sparkling wine. may be just a little out-dated though

Notes: great pale. all the flavor and aroma benefits of hops without the bitterness. just perfect. i drank our last bottle of the year though so im sad

A - More yellow gold with some orange, with an nice cloud of yeasty beasties. Head was better than my ex-girlfriend used to give. If you pour it violently its more head than you can handle.

S - Citrusy with some green, unripe fruit undertones. Some orange.

T - The hops are definately there, more flavorful hops than oily hop. Citrus taste, some of the green, unripe fruit towards grassy undertones. Reminds me a lot of a dogfish 60 minuite IPA.

M - Ok. Not watery, not heavy. Good.

D - Hell yeah. Good beer to have around.

A - Poured a hazy yellow color with a big off white head that leaves lacing

S - Is of hops citrus notes and then more hops

T - This is like drinking an IPA just hops on top of hops

M - This beer has a medium body with high carbonation to it

D - Overall this is a pretty good beer I think I've drank IPAs with less hops than this beer but thats not really a bad thing worth trying sometime

Had this one chilling in the fridge for a couple few months now--wish I would have had it sooner so I could have bought more while it was around! Poured a very bubble pale golden with a thick white head that stayed pretty frothy awhile. It's got a strong hoppy scent. Whooo, it's got the feel of a pale but the punch of an IPA. A solid hop smack with plenty of citrus notes in it as well. It finishes delightfully dry with plenty of hop bitterness. Definitely a drinkable beer. Another fantastic brew from founders--highly recommend!

I picked up a 4 pack of this in November I think, drank one and shared two and put one in the fridge to review later and I'm finally getting around to it.

A- Founder's Harvest Ale pours a hazy yellow color with a small amount of white head.
S- Fresh very citrusy hops not a whole lot else.
T- I remember the first time I had this beer thinking that it tasted like "fresh squeezed hop juice". Unfortunately it was better fresh and after a few months in the fridge it has gained more of an acidic taste. I'm still giving it a 4 though because I remember how good it was fresh.
M- Light to medium bodied, high carbonation and crisp.
D- Very highly drinkable, it's too bad it only comes in 4 packs.

Picked this up on a recent trip to Grand Rapids.

Pours a pale golden color that is extremely fizzy. A fresh soapy citrus smell: lemon, lime and orange. A crisp and refreshing flavor of citrus and hops. Again, something clean and soapy comes to mind (Pinesol Lemon?). Very clean, light and sessionable with drinkability to the max.

Pours a very pale yellow with crazy amounts of head that stands very firm. Good lacing.

Nose is citrusy (lemon mainly) with a bit of straw.

Bite is quite tart with a big hoppy finish. This one is dominated by the hops from beginning to end.

Very good.

pop open a bottle (quite a bit of carbonation pop) and pour to a regular pint glass. Actually takes a bit of time to get it all in the glass, since there's crazy head rushing to the top. Straw yellow and clear for the first half of the pour, with steady streams of bubbles rising fast to form that billowy, puffy head. gets a bit hazy when the rest of the bottle goes in. from the color at first, you'd think you'd poured a macro-lager. sticky lace hangs around in a some clumps, while a good finger worth of head hangs throughout the enjoyment.

that smell tells you it's no macro! grassy hops in there but not overpowering... maybe just a tiny hint of... nah, i mostly get citrus here. NIce!

tastes a bit grassy and obviously hoppy. a dry effect is there, but just a bit of malt as well in the form of sweetness. no caramels or the like to be found, the hops are the focus, but not over-the-top.

the bubbly carbonation helps bite the tongue in this one, which helps being the body isn't much at all. makes for a nice easy drinker that goes down too easy!

drinkability is good if you like grassy, hoppy beer. and with a ~6% abv i'd say that sessionable for me. it would be easy to have the whole 4 pack at once, but the price will keep me from doing that...

Bottle received in trade, thanks to crazynelson.

White fluffy giant head, golden yellow color that gives of scents of grass, citrus and sweetness. Taste is both hoppy and refreshing. Enjoyable, always interesting fresh hop beers. Always makes me think of how lucky I am to live in fresh hop land.

Bottle into Sam Adams Lager glass.

Pours a pale copper, cloudy, with a massive, off-white, big-bubbled rocky head.

Nose is still a bit green, resiny, citrus on top. Some pale malt peeking through from underneath.

Taste starts with a solid, biscuity, lightly sweet pale malt foundation underneath, with some nice leafy, resiny pine on top. Dry; hop note seems just a bit acidic. Finish is lightly bitter, with an exhale that carries both the biscuity malt and the green, though now slightly faded, hop note with it. Well balanced, though at this point, this one is probably past its prime. Nonetheless, still very drinkable, and a solid effort several months after its release. Would beat many a fresh APA.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, a bit oily.

Pours with a massive 3-inch fluffy, pot-marked head that settles fairly quickly.
Aroma has lots of straw, hay and green hop notes with a bit of pine in the background.
Flavor of grassy meadow is what I can come up with, just short of sweet, malty notes, little bit musty almost in a way until it is crushed by a relentless gritty bittering.
Mouthfeel is incredibly bitter. This one has lip puckering, metallic notes to it. Really ramps up the bitterness, almost too extreme, doesn't let any malt or citrus notes shine through at all.
Drinkability is somehwat compromised by the never ending resiny bitterness, has almost a tinny aftertaste in it for me.
Wanted to really enjoy just couldn't get into this one, wondering if I drink too late.

This brew pours dark straw/light amber, very slightly hazy, and leaves an incredible fluffy head. Not overcarbonated, not flat, just right.

smells slightly hoppy, sweet and citriusy. Very pleasnt, nothing bad, nothing overpowering.

Taste is somewhat dry and hoppy. Very refreshing.

Mouthfeel is quite good, creamy and plenty of it.

I'll have another...

Appearance - a hazy lemony yellow pour with four to five fingers of off-white foam churning up right away. Wow, lots of foam here and it's not backing off either. Streamers coming up from all over beneath the surface. At long last, enough carbonation escapes to let the head settle. It leaves chunks and pillows of lacy crust on the glass.

Aroma - pine and grapefruit, very business-like.

Taste - biscuity grain, sturdy but not overstated. The hops are herbal, minty, and plenty bitter. They develop and take over the profile, growing a little medicinal briefly, but then backing off quickly to just a dry, grassy, herbal finish. A fine showcase of the different hop flavors.

Mouthfeel - properly smooth, and quite crisp as you might expect. A solid body, well done.

Drinkability - a good authentic example of an American IPA. It's tasty and it kept my interest throughout. Good session choice.

Received a 12 oz. stubby bottle in a trade.

After twisting off the cap the brew pours a hazy, pale golden yellow, with a retarded amount of white foam and excellent lacing.

Aroma is very pleasant and chalk full of piny, pungent, and plenty of citrus hoppiness. A touch of fresh baked honey oat bread and a tiny bit of canned pineapple and peach. A little bit of peppery /musty /yeasty aroma reminiscent of a saison.

Light bodied with a fluffy texture and slick mouthfeel.

The brew has a light honey/canned fruit syrup sweetness up front but this is quickly washed away by fresh juicy hop flavor grapefruit/piney hop flavors that fade to a peppery/spicy hop finish that is quite drying and needs another sip. A bit of a yeasty aftertaste.

I love wet hopped beers!

Big thanks to Drunkmonk for this extra.
Poured a lighter golden color.with a huge white head, lots and lots of carbonation. Nose of citrus orange and grapefruit hops. Taste of some light pine, juicy grapefruit and balanced with some sweet malt. Pretty simple in taste. Pretty good brew overall and worth a shot!

Golden body with excellent clarity and steady carbonation streams, topped by four fingers of snow white rocky froth, stretched in all directions.

Vibrant aroma of juicy grapefruit and orange, a great big citrus circus still fresh at the end of January.

Taste is juicy sweet with tons of citrus right from the start. Bitterness rises steadily to a sharp bite at the swallow. Juicy sweet and bitter linger together long into the aftertaste.

Firm mouthfeel. Very good drinkability.

A terrific fresh hop ale that I'll be picking up another case of next fall. You should too.

S - Bitter citrus, pine needles

T - Slight malty, tons of hoppy bitterness, with some citrus and pine flavors

M - Light carbonation, moderate body

D - This was a good beer, didn't quite balance out for my extreme tastes, but still a good beer

Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow. A big, foamy white head with great retenion is present. Aroma is of fresh citrus and floral hops and a faint biscuity malt in the background.

Loads of sharp citrusy hops. There is some lemon, a bit of grapefruit, and fresh orange pulp. There is a bit of toasted malt in there as well. Not much.

Mouthfeel is ok. This beer was way over cabonated at first though it seemed to fade to an acceptable level. Pretty solid APA, but Ive had better.

Pours an attractive, warm apricot, hazy with "floaties," and a thick white, fluffy head. Very nice. The smell is very appealing - grapefruit, orangeblossom, and pine resin. Taste is delicious. I think this may be somewhat aged, as the hop profile seems a bit muted. The citrus is light and tingley, with a sweet, syrupy honey swimming beneath. It is complex, balanced, and immensely enjoyable. This is a great pale ale.

The aroma is hoppy with citrus, pine, and herbs. The malt is also there to balance it out. The appearance is hazy gold/orange with a large head. The flavor is like the aroma. Its simple but good. The palate is average for the style. Overall its a wonderful beer.
