Poured from a bottle into a stem glass. Bottled on 9/30/15.

Comes a pale golden orange with lots of streaming bubbles with a finger of off white head that leaves lacing.
I'm not getting too much on the nose. Zesty orange and grapefruit, pineapple, and pine.
The taste is orange, grapefruit, mango, a bit of pineapple, biscuits, and pine. Lingering piney aftertaste.
Nice, medium, well-carbonated mouthfeel. The aroma was underwhelming but the taste is still quite nice.

A very good harvest ale that I remember loving last year and it's still pretty good this year, though less fresh than I would prefer. I would recommend it and I would consider one of Founders' best hoppy offerings.

A: crystal clear; gold in color; 1 finger white head that receded to a splotchy cap; OK lacing;

S: bread first, then tropical fruit hops;

T: slightly sweet citrus up front; herbal and grain with tropical fruit in the background from the middle to the end; finish is mild to moderately bitter; after the first couple sips, the hop character completely dominated my palate - in a good way;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; lightly dry finish;

O: really enjoyable;

L - Pours light honey color, mostly clear with sizable creamy white head. S - Piney hops with light citrus and malt in the background. T - Follows smell, bitter hops dominate - more piney than citrusy with some dry grapefruit. F - Medium body and carbonation, very dry with some light oily resin, not at all juicy so it feels a bit lighter. O - Nice IPA, very hop forward but not as well rounded as some of my favorites.

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a pale hazy orange color with a foamy ring of a mushroom cap of white. Once the head dies off, light stringy-ness slides into the beer.
The smell has a lot of grapefruit and citrus rind up front showing a fair amount of sweetness and zestiness. Light pine slides in for the balance.
The taste had the bitterness come in to blend with the sweetness of the hops and allowing a gentle malt in the background.
The mouthfeel was about a light to medium on the body with a great slickness from those fresh hop oils. Everything plays real nice on my tongue.
Overall, what a great seasonal AIPA that Founders puts out. I'll make sure I'll grab one next year.

Pours a rather clear orange color with 1/2 a finger of head.

Aroma is predominately of grapefruit and light citrus. Some nice orange and tangerine notes. A light touch of pine.

Taste is very pleasant. Nice shot of bitterness up front, with just enough malt to keep it in line, but not enough to erase the hop character. This one is nice and citrusy with a bigger emphasis on the pine notes than was on the nose. The beer boasts a moderate amount of carbonation that pairs appropriately for the style. Bitterness does linger for a bit after the sip.

Overall, this a well crafted beer. The hops are allowed to shine. The flavor isn't all that complex, but that isn't the point really. It's just a perfect example of how fresh hops can influence a beer. I see this pairing well with some jerk chicken. It gets a 88/100.

On tap at MiKro in Hamden into a pint glass. Comes out pure amber color, clear, with a nice white head. Smell is sweet and has nice hoppy kick to it. Flavor is very similar, nice restrained malt notes lend some sweetness, big wave of fruity hops in the middle. Finish is long and bitter. Lovely harvest ale, a bit too heavy in the stomach but overall I would have another.

Aroma is dank/piney hops and a good amount of spiciness. The flavor is grapefruit, spices, hop resin, malts and a long and spicy/medium bitter finish.

This beer pours a dark gold color with a big bright white head that quickly disappears to only a small ring around the outside with a few small islands in the middle. The smell is fresh floral, some citrus notes and some grassiness. Taste is similar. Feel is medium with a lot of carbonation. Overall this beer is very good. Last year this beer blew me away. I'm not sure if my pallet has changed or the recipe has changed.

Look: 1 finger white head with some lacing that quickly dissipates with each sip. Aroma: amazingly strong floral with lighter citrus. Taste: floral up front with great malt backbone, finish is citrus and great bitterness. Mouthfeel: medium with some astringency from alcohol. Overall: one of best smelling IPAs I have ever had that delivers on taste with floral and citrus hops

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass, bottled 10/01/2015.

Appearance: Pours a deep straw with 1.5 fingers of head

Smell: Grassy hop aromas with some pine as well as faint cracker notes

Taste: Hops dominate. Really bright and clean flavor that is powerful in its bitterness but grassy and pine flavors to give a satisfying finish

Mouthfeel: Dry and medium

Overall: This feels like a similar malt bill to Double Trouble with the change of lower ABV and of course incorporating wet hops. The clean malt presence really leads to bright hope note that really showcase the use of wet hops.

Bought at the Beer Shop in East Longmeadow, MA. The beer poured and then settled as a slightly murky, pretty golden-yellow appearance with visible carbonation. Thin retention is left after the pour with some patching lacing on the sides. Great wallop of a smells such as, but not limited to, a burnt clove aroma, earthy hops and grains, and citrus flavors like lemon, oranges, grapefruit. Taste follows the aromas with some balanced, bittersweet citrus mixed with what tasted like sugar or honey. Really good carbonation; the drink was great to drink thanks to its crisp, medium body. Overall, fantastic dimensions to this drink, especially its look and aromas.

12 oz bottle. Pours clear golden, finger white head fasted leaving lots of lace. Mild citrusy grassy aroma. Light toasty malt with fresh grassy hops, some citrus peel. Semi dry finish, medium soft mouthfeel. Very clean taste. Overall a very good fresh hop ipa, has a kinda pilsner aftertaste and grassy earthy bitterness. Different but like it.

Pours a light straw color with a two finger fluffy white head. Aroma is great, with citrus, tropical fruits, grass, and hops. Taste follows with citrus, grass, a bit of earth, and a nice bready, malty background. Mouthfeel is medium and smoothly drinkabke. Overall, a very nice fresh hop ale, and ipa, being on par with others I've tried, and another horse in the large, impressive stable of founders.

Founders Harvest Ale has a fairly thin, slightly off-white head, a clear, burnished gold appearance, and low level lacing. The aroma is of citrus hop oil, and the flavor is of sweet, white bread, citrus hops, not-too-heavy bitterness, and biscuit. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Founders Harvest Ale finishes dry and drinkable.

Poured from 12 oz to becker. Clear golden pour with moderate head. Lots of effervescence. Strong, fresh, citrus and hops aroma. Bitter and sweet with a foamy feel. Almost like a cider. Overall a good fresh IPA.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Bottle date is 10/1/15

L: golden in color with a slight haze. Fluffy white head that settles into a modest lacing

S: big citrus hop aroma. lots of grapefruit. a little bit of malt sweetness and alcohol in the back.

T: juicy citrus hop flavors with notes of pineapple and tangerines. malt backbone does its job and keeps the beer from being too bitter. Alcohol is noticeable but pleasant. A great wet hopped ale.

M: slightly dry mouthfeel

O: one of the better harvest ales on the market. Definitely worth trying if you see it but the price is pretty unreasonable. $12/4 pack.

Though the aromatic hop profile of this is a tad weak next to something like Born Yesterday or even Sensi Harvest, this still has a decent character in general. There are the usual citrusy and piny tones, yet there are also notes of grass and even tropical fruit. Caramel-laden malts plays a significant role of balancing this beer. My main niggle is simple - even at just a month old, the hops seem almost too mild. Tasting it, it follows the nose quite well. The hoppiness of the flavor seems piny, grassy, and earthy, yet there are twinges of citrus lying around. Toasty malt sweetness helps finish this beer off. This one is fairly balanced for a wet hop IPA, yet it remains fairly crisp and dry to finish. I get this beer - it's a wet hop IPA for those who don't want their heads blown off with millions of hop cones. My problem is that I (whether fairly or not) expected a hop bomb.

3.57/5: Solid as hell, just not a top-tier wet hop IPA

A little different from what I was expecting from Founders. Not bad by any means, but unique. The best way I can explain it as having and earthy, nutty, woody taste in an APA. Very good. I guess the wet hops add these characteristics where dry hops cannot. Not the greatest APA, but different and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Definitely pick it up if you can.

a: the beer is a clear golden amber color, with a slightly darker orange hint. 1 finger somewhat thin white head that leaves a good lacing as it recedes

s: big juicy onion and garlic hop aroma upfront. zesty mango and pineapple followed by a smooth caramel malt. this is one of those beers where the smell of the hops just makes your mouth water

t: taste is a bit sweeter than the aroma. mango and onion up front. following behind those is some juicy malt sweetness and more of that mellow onion/garlic hop flavor. this flavor is extremely smooth and balanced

m: lighter side of medium, with medium carbonation

o: definitely impressed with this beer. the nose is enough to make your mouth water, and the flavor backs that up. it is so smooth and balanced. each flavor - hop, sweet, bitter, roles into each other in a very harmonized fashion

A - nice golden amber color with a white head that sticks and leaves nice lacing
S - pine, lots of it. orange and grapefruit peel. vegetal. some light bready malt in the back.
T - Lots of bitter pine and grapefruit, almost a peppery kind of flavor in there too. Vegetal. Bready malts on the back.
M - light to medium. Alc covered. aftertaste is bitter grapefruit peel.
O - Good, above average beer. Doesn't blow me out of the water though. Not sure if I'd really say it's worthy of the 94 rating it has, esp considering Backwoods Bastard only gets a 94 also. That said, it's exactly what it's supposed to be and for the category probably the best I've tried.

Bottled on 10/01/2015, poured from a bottle into a regular pint glass at about 45 degrees F. Straw colored with just a tinge of light orange in the most dense area of the glass. Two fingers of white head that dissipates to a film within 2-3 minutes. I smell a bit of pine, caramel sweetness, and orange peel. Very well balanced on the palette, with moderate, but appropriate carbonation. Kind of resinous feeling as it makes it's way down my throat, saturating my whole mouth with pine, orange, maybe a little apricot, and very slight caramel sweetness. Only a very minor alcohol presence, but I think that adds to the flavor profile because it's so well blended. Overall I think this is a fantastic wet hop IPA, and at 8.99 a 4 pack, I think it's definitely worth a try.

L: hazy light golden pale, frothy white head which settles in slowly

S: very light vegetal aroma from the wet hops, mixed with light citrus and hints of bread

T: not super bitter, lightly sweet and creamy, malt provides a good chunk of the flavor

F: super smooth, not too bitter, clean finish

O: very nice wet hop ale, most I have had are overly vegetal, this one balances that out by leading with a sweet malty backbone

A: [4.50] Very transparent straw colored beer. The beer forms a 1/2 finger of white head. The head has some linger to it. The bottle lists the ABV(7.6%) and there is a born on date of (09/30/15).

S: [3.75] Grassy and piney.

T: [3.50] Starts with a resinous pine flavor. Leads into some nice malt sweetness in the middle.

M: [3.50] The mouthfeel is very dry, like a dry wine. The finish is relatively short continuing the dry theme.

O: [3.75] This is a decent beer but nothing stands out. The flavor is solid and drinkable but I expected more. More, bitter, more citrus, more pine - more something. That goes for the nose and the taste. I have had beers with 2% less ABV and more flavor and complexity. This is still a decent beer - it is just not knocking my socks off.

Bottled 10/01/15. First time distributed to the west coast.
Look: Not much head and amber.
Smell: Some tropical notes. I expect more for being wet hopped. Maybe since it's a month old.
Taste: The hops are still there, mostly piney.
Feel: Slightly more carbonated than I like and I enjoy the bitter the bite at the end.
Overall: This falls under classic IPA. Good but nothing that really would wow me. It would be a good go to IPA but the price doesn't justify at 4pk/$15.

Pours a lightly clouded amber with an orange tint. The white head doesn't last long for the most part but provides enough endurance to leave some tight sticky lacing. The aroma is strong tropical fruit and the taste is much he same with an additions does of citrus. It's really good but it's a little one-dimensional and lacks some of the depth of others in style. The body has a lighter weight and a smooth feel with a little bitter bite on the finish.
