12oz bottle poured into a Portsmouth goblet.

A - Pours a pale gold with a hint of orange. Crystal clear with a thin white head that doesn't hang around long enough to be appreciated. Fades quickly to a thin collar.

S - Tons of fresh hops - mostly resiny pine aromas. Touches of fresh pineapple and a hint of grapefruit too. Malt is hidden in this one - just about all hops...really nice hop aroma though. Can't wait to taste.

T - Very prominant hop flavors - pine, citrus, pineapple, orange, some spicyness. Some bready malt, little bit of sweetness. Quite bitter too, in a good way.

M - Thin to medium body. Total mouthfilling bitterness that lasts way past the swallow. Ample carbonation - very fine bubbles - smooth and creamy with a nice touch of prickliness.

D - Pretty drinkable pale ale...really good. Plenty of hop flavor, manageable 6.5% alcohol, smooth body. Very good - could easily be happy staying with this one for a night and finishing off the 4pk.

A - Pours a light orange with a one-finger foamy white head. Head disipates quickly leaving some nice lacing.

S - Lots of tropical fruits - mango, pineapple, orange. A floral hoppiness is also present.

T - Follows the smell. Starts very citrusy with a good amount of sweetness. The hopes really come through a produce a nice bitterness in the finish.

M - Medium body with a good amount of carbonation. Mouthfeel is somewhat sticky and oily.

O - Very well balanced IPA. Another excellent seasonal from Founder's. Highly recommended.

Probably my last fresh hop ale of the season, and really looking forward to it. Bottled 4 October 2012, nice and fresh. Tasted 23 October 2012, reviewed from notes.

Pours clear golden yellow, bright and glowing. One finger of spongy white head, okay retention, fantastic lacing. Looks pretty darn good.

Smell is outstanding, and in the top tier of IPAs I've encountered. Huge juicy citrus and tropical fruit, more like oranges and pineapple, with grapefruit and pine on the back end. Wow. There are a few IPAs that I find just stunning, and this is one of them.

Mouthfeel is surprisingly light, and incredibly refreshing. Crisp, dry, and light on the palate in a way that few IPAs are. Really interesting, and really nice.

Taste is good, but it's hard to measure up to that smell. Mildly bitter, primarily pine here, a bit astringent. Finishes dry, bitter, and moderately persistent. Not bad, but after those amazing aromatic hops it's a bit of a let-down.

An excellent IPA, and probably the best fresh/wet hop one I've had. IMO, Surly Wet is the only one that even holds a candle to it in that regard.

Had on tap at House of 1000 Beers 11-23-13
served in a tulip glass.

A - Bright clear gold with two fingers of dense white head, thick lacing.
S - Big juicy orange, very bright and grassy, lots of floral notes.
T - Peach, pineapple, orange juice, pine, fresh cut grass, tons of floral notes mid way, good biscuit malt base.
M - Clean and lightly creamy.
O - Delicious fresh hopped beer, definitely my favorite fresh hopped beer of all time.

500th review!

Pours a pale yellow with touches of orange mixed in. Head is only about thumb sized off white and it falls quickly but leaves plenty of lacing.

Aroma is not over powering but very nice almost soft hops, light herbal minty notes on a tropical fruit base not so much the big citrus hops but lighter and very pleasant. Malt base is light more bready with a touch of honey then caramel.

Taste is just like the nose basically, light tropical fruits on a bread malt base. Hops move to a more herbal then a minty like finish with some light lingering bitterness. Very pleasant and hop forward with out being over powering, lots of hops flavors say medium bitterness. This is one smooth and easy drinking IPA. Good flavors with out the need to scrap your tongue in between drinks.

Mouthfeel is light side also carbonation is on the lighter side which I enjoy.

Overall really digging this brew, hard to believe its 7.6% as it drinks as easy as the All Day IPA while being much more enjoyable. Wonderful beer.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into my Smuttynose shaker glass. Appears a slightly cloudy bright yellow color with a good two fingers of fluffy white foam. Aroma and taste is packed with hop notes such as citrus(grapefruit, bitter lemon) grass, caramel malt, pine and alcohol. Delicious! Medium in both body and carbonation. IMO, the tastiest harvest ale I've had and one I look forward to each release.

Chilled bottle into a glass. A generous extra from KeefD. Thanks Keith!

A: Pours a hazy orange-amber color topped with an off-white head. Retention is moderate and there is some intricate ivy lacing down the sides.

S: Damn, this is like sniffing orange juice. Lots of orange pulp that gradually blossoms into grapefruit and tropical aromas. But primarily orange.

T: Tastes like orange up front, with a stronger variety than sensed in the nose. Grapefruit, apricot, pineapple in the mid-taste. There's a small trickling of biscuit malt that is nearly hidden by a strong grassy flavor. The finish is a moderate rubbery ethanol flavor that reminds me of a badly dry-hopped homebrew (no offense to my homebrewing friends).

M: Medium-bodied, high carbonation. Pretty cleansing, but it can't erase that rubbery astringency that closes each sip.

D: Starts off great -- really great -- but finishes badly. I'm mixed about this one.

12oz Bottle poured into a pint glass. Very small amount of head. It is a golden, hazy almost amber color. Has a nice citrus smell, but nothing over the top. The flavor is good. Some Orange, Citrus up front. It does have a bitter finish which lingers a little bit. This is not a heavy beer, its fairly medium for mouthfeel. Overall I feel this has a good balance of the citrus and bitterness, although I was not expecting the bitter to last as long after each sip, still a very drinkable IPA.
