Style: American Pale Lager

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.50%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Pleasantly crisp, perfectly clean and profoundly crushable, PC Pils is our take on the classic Pilsner style. While Noble hops have been the preferred choice of Pilsner brewers around the world, we went with some of our favorite American varieties. Piney Chinook, pleasantly citrus Cascade and punchy Centennial make this an easy-drinker with floral hop characteristics. Pretty cool, if you ask us.

Love the name of this brew, even though the volume of hopping and varieties say otherwise. Surprise!

I think I found my favorite hoppy pils altho there are many good ones. Founders likely to produce the best.

A) Pours a bright, clear honey yellow body, with a fizzy bubbly 1+ finger head that fades slowly and laced a few dots.

S) Nose lager malts, bakery bread dough, sour dough, cracker, hoppy flower, fruits and grassy hop.

T) Taste is better with more brassy, grassy hops in front, lots of mild floral herbal, grassy, see-sawing into toasted grainy pilsner malts, bakery bread dough, cracker, and landing in a cleansing, pleasing hop head bitter finish, which I love.

F) Mouth is med with soft and crisp lager notes, well carb. Cleansing, bitter. Neat. Great summer go to. This, Baba Black and Dales are all I need all summer with occasional strong stout.

Love it. Try 24.

Poured into a narrow pint glass: color is hazy straw gold, head is white with fine to medium bubbles, head laces the glass sides.

Smell is neutral: not much malt and only a hint of citrusy cascade hops.

Taste has more to it with a dry malt, no real malt flavor, then citrus cascade hops, bitter centennial, and bit of earth from the chinook.

Mouthfeel is crisp, biting, moderate lingering finish.

Overall a bitter, crisp, punchy american style pilsner - i don't get much malt presence as the hop flavors dominate.

Pours a hazy yellow straw color. This beer is dated 4/04/17. Smells like lemon and pineapple. Tastes like a watered down IPA. Not necessarily bad, I would have again. Finish is crisp and refreshing. Overall having been only drinking IPA's , I was looking forward to a more traditional Czech style Pils.

12 oz can 4/4/17 poured into a Guinness pint glass. A clear gold, very active carbonation, with a one finger sudsy white head that retains for about half the glass. Bright floral/citrus on the aroma, with some bread notes. The taste is tilted toward the citrus side of things versus a more traditional Pilsner. Medium light to light feel, with only a tinge of sharpness on the finish. Overall, makes a for fast drinker well suited for the summer heat.
