I absolutely adore healthy beers like these. Real raspberry puree that taste tarty and the mixing of the malts makes this taste like a real raspberry cake like dessert folks. Founders also puts bottled on dates on their labels which is another plus. When your in the mood for that different type of beer then a 6 pack of Founders Rubaeus will gladly quench your thirst. Cheers! It's really good but is it world class who the heck knows. A- (90-94) score range

Poured from a can into a glass.

I was in a RARE mood for a fruit infused beer, and this hit the spot. Raspberry is clearly the star, and it comes off as a brew well done. Still, raspberry beer is a little odd.

Hazy, fruit juice appearance. Pinkish red. Near headless. Smells of real raspberries with a touch of sourness reminiscent of lactobacillus or bret sours. Taste is raspberry everywhere with a little malt finish. Not fake. Not syrupy. Just berries. A little sweet upfront, a good bit tart in the middle.

Pours a ruby red coloration with a medium creamy head. Smells of raspberries. Tastes of raspberries. There really isn't a lot else going on here, except maybe a little caramelly malt, it's almost like drinking raspberry syrup. It's not too sweet though, there really is a very balance between sweetness and sourness, even with a little hint of bitterness. There is a certain crisp dryness to it as well. Great summer beer for raspberry lovers.

This beer is about raspberries. Pours a mixture of pink and yellow, soft white head 1/3". Aroma does impart raspberries, so that is good. Mild grain behind it.

Taste, hey like I said, its all about the raspberries. There is almost nothing else going on, seemed like they used a mild blonde ale malt base, and kept the hops out of the way. And then they just dropped all kinds of raspberry. Its really not that sweet. They went with just the fruit. Lots of carbonation on it. Could fit the refreshing descriptor, just depends what you're looking for. Still has a relatively dry presence in the mouth feel despite the use of fruit. I think they probably hit the mark they were shooting for when they made this beer.

Late Check-in of this beer from Town Center Tap House, Daleville, VA. July 1, 2014. Lost in the archives... Day of the unfortunate US loss to Belgium in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
