12 oz bottle poured into a goblet glass. Pours cloudy pink/amber color with medium head. Smell is raspberry, bread and malt. Taste is light ale with raspberry flavor, yet heavier than a lambic or other fruit-tinged beer, with just the slightest hint of bitterness. I was a little apprehensive about this beer due to other Founders offerings being so tasty, but this was refreshing. Honestly I still prefer Mosaic and Azacaa over Rubaeus, but that's a minor complaint.

12 oz can- Pours clear ruby red with a light pink head that retains nicely. The aroma is raspberries, real and genuine. The taste is similar, raspberry, other fruits, fruity without being too sweet. Very solid.

I'm surprised how much I like this. Based on the average score, which I will supersede.
Lovely red color and red tint to the head.
Both the raspberry taste and aroma are pure raspberry pleasure. The nice supporting base helps cut down any acidic or sweetness. There seems to be a streak of hops in there too offering a soft bitterness and a bit of herbal taste. This if fully carbonated, which I don't mind with fruit beers. Also helps slow what would otherwise be a very easy and quick drink.
Thanks Jason K.

12 oz can from a 9 pack bought at work. Aroma is raspberry, grain, SweeTarts. Hazy pink pour with a medium pinkish-white head with great retention and some lace. Taste has a high level of sweetness, stopping just short of cloying, and it has a medium level of tartness, all a bit like throwing a handful of ripe raspberries in your mouth. It's better than the majority of fruit beers out there, but it's not at the very top of that style.

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a ruddy burnt amber color with a sly transparency about it. Carbonation was almost seen rising to fill a finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off super quick. There wasn't any lace.
The aroma covered sweet and tart portions of red raspberry up front. Some grainy/sweet wheat strolled in underneath.
The flavor was the red raspberries up front, sweet and tart, just like in the aroma. Aftertaste was the sweet and tart red raspberry.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate as projected by the brewer.
Overall, as a fruit beer, well, let's call it a Summer quencher, it works. But what's better what most people probably don't know is that if you use this as a "black & tan" with Founder's Imperial Stout, it's killer. You'll thank me later.

Very nice ruby/garnet color with a finger of pink head that does last long.

Smells strongly of raspberry with a bit of bread in the background. The berry notes carry that bread over into something like a sweet Hawaiin bread.

Taste is like the smell. Strong raspberry presence with something like a bit of a wheat beer backbone in there.

Mouth is bubbly and a bit more thicker than some of the thinner raspberry beers. Finish is fairly crisp and the drink is very refreshing and crushable. Also no real lingering bitterness or tartness on the back of the throat.

Overall I find this to be a very tasty and refreshing drink of raspberry beer.Very nice of Founders to put this in a 9 pack as well. I took a gamble and bought a 9 pack for about $17, and I am glad I did. This was a hit with both me and the wife so that gives us each four and leaves one that we will just have to wrestle for!

The fruit taste is something that seems like it would be refreshing and I have fallen for this many times during the warmer months. But other than the Honey Wheats its hard for me to get to surprised by a beer that doesn't really taste like beer but more like juice. Its probably the story you've heard a million times! Overall a semi-ok ale. + being in a can!
