A - Pours a mild hazy red with a little head.
S - Raspberries. Then more raspberries. Then Belgian Ale.
T - Same as the nose, very well put together on the palate.
M - Medium carbonation, I would have preferred more, but not an important factor with this brew.
O - Fantastic. I want more. This was a 2015 bottle so I'll have to have it fresher and see if it's different. It was everything raspberry that I thought it would be and, none of the crappy Rubeuas that I was afraid of.

750ml bottle

Pours ruby red with a creamy frothy light pinkish off-white foam head. Smells like fresh raspberries, raspberry juice, vanilla, caramelized toasty bready malt, some spice, with floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Tastes like fresh raspberries, raspberry juice, jam, vanilla, caramelized toasty bready malt, some spice, with floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Feels medium bodied, creamy and slick with moderate carbonation. Overall a real nice Belgian style ale fermented with raspberries.

2015 bottle, I'll get another one to cellar. Ruddy red-brown pour with just a ring of off-white left. Aroma is raspberry and raspberries. Mouth-watering. Flavor is just delicious with raspberry dominating a just-sweet-enough tangy and slightly tart. Really smooth, no trace of booze, and not cloying. One of the best fruit beers I've tried. Shame on me for passing it by so many times without trying.

Reviewed from notes. 2015 release. Poured from the 750 mL bottle into a Peg's snifter glass.

A: Dark red and translucent with a fluffy pink head that fades quickly. Low amount of visible carbonation.

S: Raspberries and raspberry juice. And that's about it.

T: Raspberries up front, with a cranberry juice-type tartness and dryness. Some lactic tart and just a mild bit of funk. Finishes with more raspberry juiciness and tart dryness.

M: A fairly light body, with low alcohol presence and fairly low carbonation sensation.

O: A decent beer. I never got to have the original. I'm not sure if this is legitimately inferior, or if this suffers from other beers catching up. It's not as crazy juicy as the New Glarus raspberry, nor as funky and complex as most fruited lambics. It's certainly not bad, but not what I was hoping for.

A color presentation in the red, pink, purple and brown vein, this one drops a very thin off white 1/6" head that vanishes quickly. Rocks the nose with raspberry.

Comes in more impressive than rubaeus, drops way more raspberry, hides the alcohol decently. Not overly sweet. But at the same time, lacks so much of the other ingredients of beer to make it more beer centric instead of like fruit juice. Carbonation is ample, but not excessive. Expensive format. Its good for summertime around noon drinking and stuff. But I wouldn't want to pound one all to myself, really about 4-6 oz of this is the right amount on a hot day. Would not bang again at this price point though.
