Subtly sour and a little sweet, this ale is a refreshing take on a nearly extinct German style, gose. Watermelon is the highlight of this lightly-hopped treat and gives it a hint of satisfying juiciness. The soft mouthfeel and dry finish comes courtesy of the addition of sea salt, a traditional gose ingredient.

Medium bodied beer with a cloudy gold orange color. Aroma is watermelon candy, malt, and a touch of lemon. Taste is watermelon candy, sour and salt as well. Finish is all watermelon.
Despite tasting like watermelon candy it isn't overly sweet or artificial tasting.

Green Zebra - Watermelon pours a pinkish copper color with a small, long-lasting head. The aroma is sweet candy, like watermelon. The flavor is sweeter, big candy watermelon flavors, with just a touch of salt. Good feel. Overall, a very sweet, fun beer with lots of watermelon flavors.

Not sure I’ve ever more disliked a beer than this one. Served from a keg at a restaurant with an otherwise solid draft menu. It tastes like melted down watermelon Nerds mixed with something slightly rancid. Wanted to give it a shot, but really could not understand it. Even my wife, who will generally love fruit flavor infused beers that I don’t want to drink agreed with me. This is pretty much undrinkable.

Pours light gold with a nice head that lasts. Smell is of watermelon. Taste is of watermelon and beer, which don't seem to mix well. Very sweet with a yeasty finish.

Grunt fill from Albertsons. Pale golden, hazy, faint head, which fades. Light fruity aroma, hard candy, jolly rancher. Tadte is more of the candy flavors, watermelon, which actually works nice with the salty notes. Refreshing after some yard work.

12 oz. can, acquired as part of a mixed six pack at the local Binny's - happy to have picked up one of each of these, as I wasn't ready to commit to an entire case of this shit, as I've seen this sold in the past. Rebranded now as Green Zebra - Watermelon to distinguish it from the others in the pack.
Poured to a La Fin Du Monde tulip.
A: Pours a nice deepish golden color, almost with the consistency of apple juice. Nice bit of clarity. Small finger of white head that falls to a surface skimming. Some good fluffy lacing. Looks ok per the style.
S: Super orchardy, lots of green apple / fruit sugar sweetness. Has some of that distinctive lactic tartness found in most Gose. Watermelon aroma is present, but is quick to fade away, and doesn't seem entirely natural.
T: Yeeeesh was my first impression, and I'm sticking by it. Sticky, sugary, almost tastes more to me like a Golden Ale. Has that lactic tartness / soft sour, but it is quick to fade, and is overcome by a heavy sticky sugary sweetness. Medicinal, almost. Does not taste like authentic watermelon..
F: Body is thick, syrupy, heavy, filling. Not enjoyable at all. Feels way heavier than 4.6% abv.
Overall, not to be harsh, but I did not enjoy this one at all, and will be damned if I might not even finish this can. Here's to hoping the others are better..

Average brew with no outstanding parameters. It´s a gose like many others and watermelon is a favorite taste for them. May be i´ll buy another in August when it´s hot.

It came looking like a mildly cloudy lager in a clear pint glass. After being drawn from a tap, there wasn't much white head to speak of. Nor did any glass lacing appear. It's color is dull golden-amber. It's not particularly aromatic, but neither is watermelon especially so. The flavor and even mouthfeel are fuller than expected. That isn't necessarily a good thing. Both the fruit included and this style of brew are usually less sweet and lighter and cleaner across the palate. This leaves the mouth feeling like one just had a giant watermelon Lifesaver. Only a mild dose of sourness disrupts that analogy. Other than not tasting much like a watermelon gose, this isn't bad. The mouthfeel and the sweet/sour counterbalance are pleasant enough, even with little of the actual fruit tasting through. It's not a great gose, but it's an OK beer.

12oz can into a pint glass.
L: Pours light chill hazed straw deep yellow w a thin off-white head that is fast down to edge foam, good carbo, light spotty lacing.
S: Watermelon, fruit rind, light brine, grassy.
T: Sweet/tart watermelon hard candy, a hint of yeast, melon rind, sea salt, berry brine. Plenty of melon.
F: Crisp, sharp, fizzy, med-light body w a snappy & fast dry finish. It is semi-juicy.
O: Quite refreshing and affordable (I found 12pks on clearance for $9.99 USD). Not too sour with very good tasting fruit flavors and a good feel. It is very good in its style.
