Bottled 02/09/09.

Nose is sluggishly hoppy - resin, citrus, lemon (similar to that of a lemon-based household cleaner like Pledge). Malt base with some sugary sweetness. Smells good.

Pours clear golden yellow with mild head. Looks good.

Flavor is significantly hoppy, especially in bitterness. Soft notions of alcohol in background. Solid malt backbone - bready, slightly toasty - with some moderate caramel sweetness. Resin, lemon, soft perfume, herbal, soft floral, with earthy ground and soft pungent spice. Delicate hop profile, although many of the flavors are strong. Finishes dry and oily. Tastes good. Feels good. Good drinkability.

A solid IIPA. Not as earth-shattering to this palate as to others it seems. It's good, I'll have to try a fresher bottle sometime to see if the hops have died down significantly.

Poured into a Palm tulip.

Pours hazy orange golden with a tinge of copper. Bright white head is minimal, maybe a finger in the glass, but lingers nicely throughout the drink. Nose is definitively sweet citrus, light, but flavorful.

Taste is very similar to the nose with floral hoppiness, with a nice sweetness that balances well with the citrus and hops. Great balance of bitter and sweet. Nice medium mouthfeel, a little carbonation. Definitely get a bite of alcohol. Overall a really good beer.
