Date stamp is smudged off but its definitely from April, 2013. 12 oz bottle into a pint glass.

A - Pours a hazy dark yellow/orage with a cap of white foam. Really nice lacing and retention.

S&T- Tropical fruit juice, tons of bitter grapefruit and a touch of onions. Taste is bitter grapefruit juice and some pith. Earthy and a bit danky. A nice bready malt backbone. A really solid grapefruit heavy brew.

O - I really enjoy this one, however its hop profile is not my favorite.

12oz bottle, deep golden colored body topped with with a bubbly, white head that holds good retention and fades to a foam leaving some lace on the glass. Juicy, tropical aroma, with citric grapefruit, bready malt, caramel. Bready, sweet, caramel malt backbone can't stand up to the bitter, pungent hop bitterness of grapefruit, mango, and pine. Juicy and sweet, but bitter and a bit hot. Medium body, resinous hop, lingering bitter finish. Overall, I never know what to think of this one - I love Founders, but it's not my favorite of theirs, still a reputable DIPA though.

Poured in a tulip glass. Beautiful light golden color with less than a 1/2 finger head. Some carbonation bubbles from the bottom.

The aroma was an intense grapefruit- more intense than most other DIPAs. There was a also a an earthy farmhouse quality to the aroma often present in Saisions.

The beer is highly carbonated which enhances its overall character: fruity, earthy, and somewhat bitter.

The taste was grapefruit- almost pink grapefruit, a flavor I haven't found in most DIPAs. This quality makes the beer stand out- a singular grapefruit taste heightened by sweetness, good carbonation and bitterness.

Warming brings more earthiness, pungency, sweetness, and forward hops.

Overall, an excellent DIPA, especially due its distinctive pink grapefruit taste, carbonation, a good finished bitterness, and an added sweetness.
