With a blend of their most prized IPA, Founders cocktail of hops come as a delight to hop heads near and far. With bitter resins, floral scents and a citrusy center, this new IPA blend is sure to push all the hoppy buttons.

Deep golden and light amber hues catch the eye along with a firm and frothy cap. Bold hop aromas flood the nose with citrus zest, freshly shaven pine, a fine grassiness and a caramelized backdrop. But as the beer hits the tongue, its the malt sweetness that frames a first impression. Caramel, honey and a mild poundcake toastiness takes the sweetness into a graham cracker direction.

Then as the ale unfolds on the middle palate, the flavors shift toward the hops. Pink grapefruit, freshly zested orange and a pep of lime overcome the malt influence and usher in a crisp, radiant and drying refreshment to delight the tastebuds. With the sweetness receding, the hops roll into a deep and resinous bitter taste with the character of torn pine needles, grass clippings and a peppery alcohol spice.

Medium full and malty dry, the imperial IPA retains a moderate amount of malt balance to support the hops and to bring a juicy caramelization even on the finish. But its drying, bitter and spicy track allows for the drinkability and refreshment of IPA to shine as well. A long and bitter aftertaste leaves a trail of resins and peppery vodka in its wake.

This beer just replaced Hop Slam as my favorite Double IPA. So much aroma , pine, citrus, etc. and great mouth feel without an overly sweet finish. Love this beer Founder's!!

On tap at Das Biergarten. Clear deep orange. Smells of booze and grapefruit. Tastes of booze and grapefruit as well. A big of caramel sweetness. Huge alcohol presence. Medium heavy. Wow, it's boozy. A huge DIPA with a profile from an earlier era.

This is a really good and drinkable iPA. Pours a misty clear copper color with a small head and strong lacing. Smell is fragrant peach fruitiness and sweet malt. Taste is well balanced for a 10% beer. Flavors of lemon, peach, sweet grapefruit and hop resin. You can taste the alcohol, but it’s well balanced and still drinkable. This is a really nice west coast double IPA.

Golden in color. Off white color head. Nose is heavily hopped as is the taste. The bite on the back of the tongue is quite intense. Such a delight to drink a true imperial ipa.

Delicious, juicy and truly complex IPA with many differing, complementary hop flavors. Nice golden color, not hazy, thin head and only a little spotty lingering lacing. Smells of hops, primarily floral and herbal. Tastes of all kinds of hops - floral, citrus, herbal, a little grassy. Not much bitter citrus rind to speak of. Smooth clean finish, thin mouthfeel with moderate carbonation throughout. Very juicy, flavorful, easy-to-drink IPA. Alcohol is deceivingly hidden.
