Let it warm up, maltiness balances out with the bourbon closer to cellar temperatures

Look: A beautiful deep ruby brown with a one finger mocha head. Moderate carbonation.

Smell: Immediate and dominant bourbon, with vanilla, hearty oak, toffee, sweet sticky malt, dates, honey sweetness, more bourbon, and more big sweet malt. Smells great.

Taste: Bourbon floods the palate with lots of vanilla and molasses notes, followed by sweet malt, dark pitted fruits, slight cherries, tobacco, brown sugar, the base of a scotch ale is definitely present as the finish is more bourbon and dominated by oak. Awesome.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and only slightly sticky. One of the lighter barrel aged beers I've ever had. Carbonation is good and the booze is just there as a slight bite on the finish and a warming sensation in the back of the throat.

Overall: Another great brew from Founders. The brew melds big bourbon, a solid wee heavy, and a dominate oak very well to make a great drinking barrel aged beer. The only real complaint is that the body is a bit too thin. I think Alesmiths barrel aged wee heavy is still the best beer in this style but this is still a great beer and I wouldn't hesitate to pick it up when I see it again.
