From Saveur Biere. In Teku glass. Watching Narcos 2x10. A bit of a letdown given the hype. Plenty of bourbon, wood and alcohol here, too much for my liking, causing it to require slow drinking.

Well this is bourbon goodness. It brings vanilla and cherries notes. The base beer is all in all very balanced and very malt forward with a nice toffee presence along some dried fruits. The bourbon is all over the place. Very nice

Bottled 10/3/16
12 oz. bottle poured into a snifter.

Pours a dark cola color and consistency with one finger of tan head that fades to a bubbly crown but rises with a swirl of the snifter. The nose is strong enough but I had a hard time picking out individual aromas other than sweet caramel and some bourbon. My first couple of sips were straight up coconut which is perplexing to me. This character fades but never leaves as other flavors open up. Dark fruit, caramel and bourbon are most notable. I don't find it very boozy though it does finish with some heat. Medium to full in body and I would say both creamy and a little frothy.

A great tasting sipper. I wish I had tried this one years ago!

Extremely dark ruby brown in color. Ample light brown foam with excellent retention and lacing. The aroma is rich and complex. Massive notes of bourbon, oak, raisin, fig, vanilla, molasses, faint earthiness. Absolutely phenomenal. The taste follows with bourbon, dark fruits, and oak coming through most prominently. Light hoppy bitterness of the finish. Medium full body, low-moderate carbonation. Dry, slightly bitter finish. A fantastic example of a BA scotch ale.
