Many times I have pondered about this beer and always have had a tough time trying to figure it out, but finally, I feel confident enough in saying something about this beer.
The appearance was a semi-hazy dark pink to red color with a white foamy head that slid off at a pretty quick pace. No lace.
The aroma had some sweet cherries with a super light tart cherry skin and then a subtle grassy smooth sweetness to it.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet side initially but developed into the tartness as it warmed. An ample amount of the sweetness rides into the aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Not cloying, but the sweetness does seem to linger a bit more than expected running along my tongue. ABV did feel appropriate. Carbonation did feel just a touch under and honestly, every bottle I've ever had of this, I have always thought this was under carbonated.
Overall, the aromas and the flavors are the best thing about this beer, but to be honest when it comes to a Founders fruit beer, I tend to stick with Rubaeus or Mango Magnificio (perhaps a sly bias towards "heat" beers, not sure).

Muted colors with gold, light brown and pink hues to it. Expected more pink. Aroma was just as much cherry as it was malt, neither of which was all that much.

Taste doesn't get enough cherry, not overly sweet, but not overly beer-ish either. I guess this is their attempt at a girlfriend beer.

This beer hasn't been brewed since 2012. This bottle is from 2012. Poured into snifter. Light red, hazy. My first cerise. Pretty sweet. A lot of sediment. Light-medium carbonation. Full bodied. Pretty good. I'd like to check it out next to a fresh one.

More interesting to me than Blushing Monk. Starts off with moderately sweet, tart cherries, sweetness becomes more dominate towards the end. There's an odd taste present in the back ground. Artificial cherry syrup taste maybe?
