Poured into a Funky Buddha Brewery snifter.

A- Pours a reddish amber color with a 1/2 inch off-white head that retains a bit before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a large center patch of surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves a jagged ring behind.

S- Piney and grassy with a bit of citrus. There's also a distinct amount of booze.

T- Assertive bitterness with more grassy, earthy hop flavor. A bit of malty sweetness in the aftertaste but not enough to work together with the hops. Not as boozy as the aroma but the alcohol is still there.

M- A bit dry with a slight hop sharpness. Medium carbonation and a body leaning toward the fuller side.

O- Pretty good but not exactly what I look for in an IPA. Maybe I just don't like Centennial hops that much.

Color- deep amber. Medium to full head.

Aroma- inviting citrus hoppiness (Cascade hops perhaps?) with a sweet nose.

Taste- Starts hoppy right out of the gate but nicely balanced. Finishes with a classic IPA grapefruit rind bitter hoppiness. Holds its own in the crowded IPA market. For the ABV, it's smooth and the alcohol is very well masked. 65 IBUs.

Poured from a 355 ml bottle into a Liefmans Goudenband glass.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass.

APPEARANCE: copper colored and hazy, in addition there are larger bits suspended in the beer, lightly carbonated, one finger head that dissipated quickly and then retained a thin unbroken layer throughout, there was a moderate amount of lacing on the glass, lighter carbonation, this is a beautiful looking beer.

SMELL: bread, sweet caramel flowers and grapefruit citrus.

TASTE: the taste follows the nose on this one, initially sweet caramel, bread then grapefruit citrus and some pine resin, very well done, this IPA is balanced but has a very nice hop profile that lingers in a good way, the 7.2 % ABV is very well disguised.

PALATE: full bodied, lighter carbonation, creamy.

OVERALL: I enjoyed this beer and will drink it again, this is my first beer from this brewery, I've heard lots of good things and will try more of their beers in the future for sure, I would recommend this beer to anyone that enjoys IPA.
