Pours a nice rich amber brown colour, a nice cap of white head with really great retention and some unfiltered haziness with some visible carbonation.

S - is full of full lively lavender florals, peach and pear fruits, fruity hops are forefront, very intense and full. Lime and grapefruit citrus, with some of the crisp maltiness as well. A bit of a herbal note, very nice and balanced.

T - is wonderfully floral and fruity, pear, rich apple, with a soft bitterness, not overwhelming in any sense, a smooth maltiness and then some pepper spice on the end. Lingers on with a spicy floral. A full and satisfying flavour palate, has a ton of fruity complexity initially with a touch of sweetness then the bitterness comes through with a spicy citrus kick on the end. Really nice.

M- oh so smooth, alc strength is hardly noticeable, just a refreshing and really balanced IPA. Satisfying malty smoothness with a light/mod carbonation, settles really nicely on the palate. Finishes crisp and dry with a lot of flavour and a nice finish that lingers. Not oily but a full really body.

Full and refreshing with a nice depth that compliments food really well. A really balanced fruity IPA that has plenty of good qualities. This is not an overly bitter IPA but full of complexity and balance. This is a standout for sure.

Pours a clear orange amber hue with a fluffy three finger head and lacing everywhere, the smell is predominantly freshly picked Valencia oranges mixed with torn lemon leaves and grapefruit, the mouthfeel is a tad lack lustre it's just medium bodied with average carbonation and has tastes of strong Valencia oranges, grapefruit, lychee, passionfruit,a little cameo of toffee malts but boy it's brief and finished with a citrus bitterness and overall it's loaded with hops but I feel the mouthfeel lacks and could be abit more balanced cheers.

From notes.

A - Poured with a mild haze in a copper body. One finger of thick white head on top with good carbonation. Spotty lace and a half finger of retention left over.

S - Really piney off the bat. Pineapple and weed pretty evident too. Some peach or apricot. A lovely aroma. Really pleasant.

T - More citrus and pine come through. Layers of less typical citrus. Lot's of pine. Some decent maltiness too.

M - Fairly good bitterness. Good carbonation at a mild level and a medium body.

O/D - I was pretty stunned at the quality of this. A great IPA that is drinkable and has a pretty complex and unique hop flavour. Drank like hop juice.

12 oz. bottle, with bottled on date reading 06/24/2013, so this beer is one month old today. Another offering from Founders that I haven't tried yet; got the six pack from the local beer store where all Founders six packs are $8.99 all summer long.

Poured into a Firestone Walker pint glass.

A - Pours two fingers of slightly off-white colored head on top of a coppery dark orange colored body. Decent head retention, with big strands of thin wispy lace.

S - Smell is of light bitter grapefruit hops, some blood orange / lemon, lightly floral & herbal, with a strong biscuit malt profile. Hops are more subdued than on a lot of more intense IPA's, but I was actually expecting this.

T - Taste is sweet, bitter, & juicy, with very authentic fruitiness (fresh orange, grapefruit), and some tart lemon / lemon rind in the finish. Bready and malty in the aftertaste, with just a hint of alcohol warmth. Nicely balanced hops & malts, and nicely carbonated for being such a high abv beer.

M - Feel is slightly resinous & dry. Crisp, tart, medium-bodied, with nice carbonation.

Overall, I would place it somewhere in the average realm of IPA's. It's well-made, nicely balanced and flavored, but it's really not as intense or mindblowing as other more exciting examples of the style. I just tried the Founders Pale Ale, and I was much more impressed with that offering. Of course, for being your average everyday shelf beer, especially for less than ten dollars for a six pack of 7.20% abv IPA, I suppose you can't go wrong.

Founders Centennial IPA ---4/5.

Poured into a standard pint, nothin' special. Couldn't find a bottled date.

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a two finger off white head with pretty decent retention. Sticky lacing all over the glass.

Aroma: Floral and citrusy hops.

Taste: Well rounded solid IPA. Grapefruit citrus bitterness that never pushes towrds the edge. Malty sweetness provides a good balance.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, easy, and clean. Bitterness is held in check. Oily mouthfeel. Was surprised how quickly this one disappeared.
