I liked this beer; had at the black party 2010

A: Black, thick, nice head for a porter, standard lacing. Good and Dark.

S: Porterific, Founder has one of the best porters, this smelled of malts, chocolate and other roast scents, sweet aroma, cherries.

T: I got cherry tartness, sweetened by the malts with sort of a porter cherry finish. It was hard to describe, definetly unique, and very good.

M: Good, not great, could have been a touch thicker.

D; definetly the lowest ABV beer I had at the black party, it went down surprisingly smooth.

12 oz tap pour into an American tumbler pint and shared with Sweemzander at Founder's Black Party 2010.

A - No light can even get though this porter, possibly the "lightest" style shared this evening. A swirl releases a tan head that's small with low retention but lots of small lace spots everywhere inside the pint.

S - Mild fresh cherries follow behind with a mellow presence, the roasted chocolate malts. Cocoa and mocha add a dry, powdery nose to the roasted malt nose. A classic porter aroma with a splash of cherry.

T - A good level of tart cherries blends very well with the roasted black malts. The flavor flip-flops with every sip between roasted malts and tart, fresh cherries. Dry cocoa and mocha linger in the background and compliment the cherries very well.

M - Tart and roasty with a medium body that's thinner than expected. This beer has a great blend of tart and roasted bitter that play off each other deliciously.

D - It's the least thick beer of the evening and it's got one of the best textures combined with the flavor making it a superb drinker. This would pair wonderfully with desert like cheesecake or chocolate-covered cherries.

Growler shared by Azurelimits at a recent tasting. Shared alongside bmanning, Amyliz4, and hhanson.

A: Pours jet black, but not too thick and viscous. Slight tan head.

S: Plenty of fresh, semi-tart cherries alongside a good amount of roasted malt and hints of chocolate.

T: Roasted dark malt alonside a bit of dark chocolate and maybe some faint hints of sharp espresso. The roasted tartness fits right in with the cherries.

M: Medium bodied with good carbonation.

D: Good here as well. A very nice twist on the porter style. Founders never ceases to impress.

12oz. tap poured into a nonic @ Founders Black party.

(A)- Pours a dark black color that produced a quickly dissipating tan head.

(S)- Rich roasted malts with hints of cocoa and plenty of dark cherries.

(T)- A rich roasted quality with some dark cherries up front. Bits of tartness from the cherries with a crispness uncommon with a porter, but could be from the fruit itself.

(M)- A good carbonation level with a good balance. Very much a porter with a good cherry sweetness/tartness.

(D)- A good porter. The cherry addition creates a more dynamic profile. Tart, yet a good malty profile.
