bottled 12/26/11. poured into my founders pint glass.

a - pours golden in color and is totally transparent. only got a thin cap of off white head that calmed to a film right away, but does leave a lot of little chunks of lacing in my glass.

s - toffee, faint honey, orange, pineapple, faint grass.

t - grassy hop character over a biscuity malt base. juicy citrus notes, faint pine. pleasing amount of bitterness leads into a crisp, dry finish. standard ipa flavors here, but very well balanced.

m - medium in body but plenty of carbonation makes it feel lighter. medium co2 profile.

o - probably the most easy drinking beer i have ever had. the fact that i could have 3-4 of these in a night (or day) without falling down drunk just makes it that much more enjoyable. i see this being a regular inhabitant of my fridge.

Bought a 12 fl oz bottle of this from Bruisin Ales in Asheville, NC for $2. Poured from the Bright Colored bottle w/ a Station Wagon carrying a Kayak & "Session Ale" below the brand into a non-stemmed Wine Glass. Has BOTTLED 12/26/11 on the front of the bottle.

Aroma- Has an intense citrus and grassy aroma from the beginning. Seems as if this was just brewed yesterday! Very fresh and may have been a bit dry hopped?

Appearance- Pours a 1 finger head that dies quickly. Has a clear, golden colored body and leaves a sudsy lacing behind.

Flavor- A HUGE hop punch hits hard from the start. Grapefruit and other sweet, citric fruits pop out and gives it a strong hop presence all the way through. Has a light-medium hop bitterness level at the end. Wonderful!

Mouthfeel- Light-Medium Bodied, Medium Carbonation, Smooth, and a mixture of fruit is left behind with light hops.

Overall Impression- A perfect example of this style! Didn't expect anything less from Founders. This is my first time seeing this brew from them and am wondering why?? Maybe it wasn't offered in the Missouri Market the past 2 years? Either way, looking for more! I suggest you do the same.

Overall a decent IPA but not the best, if it was anymore bitter it should be classified as a ESB. It was semi sweet and had a great taste. I'm a big fan of IPAs but there are better ones out there, if this was conditioned a little longer it could definitely be a better beer.

12 oz bottle poured into a Sierra Nevada imperial pint.
Bottled 12/26/11, 42 IBU, 4.7% ABV.

A - Vibrant golden hued, plenty of carbonation streams through the perfectly clear beer to a well-retained ivory head. Thin, clingy lace dots the pint delicately.

S - Holy dry-hopped aroma Batman! All Day IPA smells incredible! Voluptuous citrus; lemon wedge, cubed pineapple, and balled mango make up this very tropical aroma that finishes out with a touch of pine. Pale graininess and smooth pils sweetness back up the near-orgasmic hop nose.

T - Pale and pils malt provide a great base and delicious flavor behind the bold hop profile that mirrors the aroma. Tropical but balanced.

M - Lighter bodied, perfect for a session ale, this crisp IPA has an impeccably balanced finish that allows the moderate bitterness to be accented without becoming a chore to drink.

O - Damn near flawless, All Day IPA is a session ale packed with hop flavor and character that's exciting but not overwhelming or taxing after a few. It's not often I want to drink pint after pint of a beer but, I'd be overly willing to put six of these back. Founders has nailed it; All Day IPA is the quintessential American session ale!

massive thanks to bierenutz for this excellent extra. bottled 12/26/2011 - 11 days old...i hear ipas fall off after hour 23, but i'll take my chances with 11 days! woo hoo!

a - opened the bottle and filled my blue point snifter. poured straw yellow that settled into the glass as a yellow orange with a full finger of white frothy classic ipa head. lacing was chunky and clingy. has a pale ale look to it, subtle visible carbonation swam to the surface.

s - nice sweaty hops, but not too intense. the odor makes me expect a bit of a bitter bomb. again, seems like it would be a hoppy pale ale as opposed to an ipa, but i guess that's what these huge hop bombs that pass off as ipas these days have done to my perception of an ipa. then again, this is almost a session beer whereas most ipas these days have more strength.

t - nice. some sweetness with the hops and finishes pretty bitter. nice classic ipa...good, not crazy.

m - light and easy drinking. some bitterness.

o - overall a nice ipa, nothing earth shattering. glad i got to try it extremely fresh. i do get founders locally, not sure if this one will come to town, but i imagine so. i'd definitely reach for this one if i was looking for an ipa to drink all day (as advertised), but would definitely take double trouble over this one in a heart beat.

A half-finger of fluffy white head on top of a transparent honey-colored beer. Great looking. Has a powerful citrus and piney hop smell accented with some grassy notes. The taste has the hop character but not much balance it. Almost a light pilsner-like background to it. Nice, light and smooth mouthfeel and lightly carbonated. Overall, this would be great in the summertime at the river. It's got great hop character but not really much malt backing to balance it out for me.

4/30/12 edit-this beer is really growing on me. It's a great session beer. I bumped the taste up to a 4 and the overall up to a 4, as compared to my first review.

A: pours a clear honey with two fingers of white head that fades into a thin ring with no lacing.

S: loads of citrus here. Pineapple and grapefruit with some pine notes as well. Smells amazing, especially for such a low abv beer.

T: lots of grapefruit and pine with some pineapple and grassy notes as well. Nice and earthy.

M: medium-light body with medium carbonation, this beer is light, dry, and clean. Quite drinkable for such a hoppy beer.

O: a great IPA, especially with such a low abv. I could definitely drink these all day.

12 oz. bottle. Bottled 12/26/11.

Clear, clean, light copper orange body. Small, but persistent, light beige-white head. Some lacing. Lots of fresh hops on the nose. Big notes of mango, pineapple, cannabis, resin, and some citrus. Maybe a little sugary malt in there as well.

Toasted malts and some lemon mineral water bitterness up front. Herbal, grassy hop flavors become weedier through the palate. Some pine in there too. Bitterness stays strong, and even gets a little aspirin-y in the end. Light malt presence with some caramel and fruit flavors. The hops definitely win this battle though. Very dry finish. Moderate body, with a little bit of a gassy, bubbly feel. Definitely tastes like a "session" IPA, with all the hops but less malt/alcohol. Ultimately, although I quite like this beer, I think it would really shine on cask; the carbonation is a little too prickly and gives the beer too much of a mineral water feel.

Poured into a Tulip.

Appearance. Dark golden color. Pours with 2 fingers of head that slowly dissipates to a layer of tight bubbles on top of the beer. Lots of effervescence.

Smell. Floral, slightly citric, herbal and grassy. So much here, hops wise.

Taste. Starts out, and continues to be surprisingly dry. A moderate resinous, piney and floral bitterness builds. Grapefruit and other citric flavors join the floral notes as the pineyness fades. At the same time a slightly herbaceous, or even medicinal and grassy flavors join the citrus and floral notes. The finish is dry, crisp and refreshing. Very little, to almost no malt backbone to speak of.

Mouthfeel. Light body, effervescent carbonation and very dry as stated before.

This beer is insanely drinkable, while at the same time being one of the most uniquely hopped beers I have ever tasted. There are so many of the standard hop flavors that you usually find in IPAs, This one just combines them all in one beer.

"All Day IPA". 12 oz bottle. Bottled on 12/26/11.

It pours a light, clear orangeish amber with a foamy white head that quickly dissipates with no lacing.

The smell is pretty good. There is a lot more grain than your typical IPA, but it is pleasant. There is a tangy fruitiness as well in the aroma.

The flavor is decent. Definitely more malt-oriented. It tastes like pretzel and grain with a touch of pine in the aftertaste but it is by no means bitter. Grapefruit comes in as you go.

I am confused why this is an IPA, more of a standard pale ale.

A: Light golden hue. Bubbly white head. A small amount of lacing.

S: A great balance of sweetness along with fruity hops notes.

T: Lots of citrus flavors: grapefruit, lemon and orange. The flavors are perfectly balanced with a slight hop bitterness.

M: Light-bodied with a good amount of carbonation.

O: This stuff is great. Exactly what it says. The kind of beer I could drink all day. I am sure hardcore hopheads will not be satisfied by it, but I see this becoming a beer I keep stocked in the fridge.

As its called this is a great IPA to enjoy all day. It has the hops to keep an IPA lover satisfied, but is easy on the palate and easy for any beer lover to drink.

A- Light, clear amber in color with nice white head

S-Mild but notable hop aroma with sweet citrus overtones and hint of toffee makes for an enjoyable aroma

T-Mild compared to most IPA's but the hops are present yet sweet and leaves a sweet hop aroma in the mouth

M-Nothing overpowering, goes down easily with a sweet flowery taste

O-Great IPA if you're looking for an easy to handle IPA or just getting use to the power of hops. I'm lucky to have Founders in my backyard and recommend this to any visitor.

golden amber color was transposed into the glass. Lots of carbonation actively searching for a place to go, lands it up at the top of the glass and into the mix of a rich white frothy head. Nice two inches of head quickly races by and leaves with it a nice fluffy and intact pillow across the top that slowly deposits tones of spider web like sticky lace down the sides of the glass. This was a good looking IPA.

The aroma was pungent and fresh, dripping with hop resin so bitter you could feel it through your nose. Very floral, with big notes of orange and tangerine, hints of grapefruit and lemon, with a bit of pine tar thrown in for good measure. This was what it was all about. The flavor was more f the same, and this could have been quite possibly the best tasting IPA I have ever had. Right up there with Sculpin for sure. Huge, sticky fresh hops, loaded down with candy coated sugar. Big notes here of orange all over the place. Lots of citrus of every conceivable kind just literally dripping in here. This is what I would imagine chewing on a still growing hop vine would be like. It was intensely fresh. Nice medium body, almost chewy at time

On tap at CK. I was originally served 10K IPA when I ordered this. Didn't take long to figure out something wasn't quite right.

Light copper color with a fluffy white head. Thick rings of lacing. Strong pine and mild citrus nose with a strong biscuit and bread malt graininess. Robust biscuit malt body with grass and pine bitterness domianting throughout. Not as much citrus as the aroma, other than some light rind makes this is a little disappointgly bland; dry, earthy and bitter. Medium body with full carbonation. Nice for 4.7% but probably not something I'll seek out when it's packaged.

Thanks for the growler, Derek.

A: The beer pours light amber in color with a tall white head and some nice lacing.

S: A really good aroma to this. Nice pine notes as well as some citrus (grapefruit). There's a bit of biscuit malts along with mild grass and some herbal hops. Very resinous and oily.

T: Mild toffee flavor and sweetness on the flavor. Plenty of grass and pine hop notes, but not quite as much citrus. Just a bit of grapefruit peel and a pretty decent bitterness.

M: Medium bodied with a medium carbonation.

O: Really great nose on this. The flavor isn't quite as good, but it's still enjoyable and at sub-5%, really easy to drink.

On-tap at the pub on 7/9.

A: Light orangish yellow. A nice finger and a half of off white head appeared and left nice, sticky lace.

A: Surprisingly strong notes of citrus and pine. Great orange, pineapple, and pine sap notes, with hints of grain from the base malt.

T: Again the hops shine, but there is enough of a malt presence to give it some balance. Lots of flavor for such a light brew. Notes of citrus and pine, with absolutley no hint of the ABV.

M: On the lighter side of medium. Good levels of carbonation.

O: I really enjoyed this brew. Great flavor, low ABV, and a beer that I could drink quite a few of. I would love to have this fresh on a hot summer day. Just what the doctor ordered. Skal.

A - Yellow/amber colored beer with a mild amount of head, lacing, and spots. Not the best looking IPA in the world, but at least it's not ugly.

S - Pine, citrus, some underlying malts. Actually has a nice bit of aroma for something with this low ABV.

T - Taste is pretty nice as well, with good citrus and some resiny pine on top of a malt backbone. Nice hops, with a bittering dry finish.

M - Lighter side of medium with some tongue-poking carbonation, gives it more of an edge.

O - Surprising amount of heft and flavor for a beer with this ABV, great session beer that would go well with food.

Pours a slightly hazy straw color with 1/2 finger of quickly dissipating head.

Smell is loaded with pine. Hard to get too much else out of the smell, but it does smell good.

Taste is similar to smell, with piney hops dominating. Not muh in the way of malt to balance, but really quite good. Finish tastes a bit like tea, with little in the way of lingering hop bitterness. A lot of flavor, but the finish falls a bit flat.

Medium, slightly oily mouthfeel that finishes pretty clean.

Overall, very drinkable, though the tea notes on the finish are a little off putting after awhile. Nice to see some more very flavorful, lower abv beers.

All Day IPA

Served in New Belgium tulip

A: Pours clear pale gold with modest head that has little retention. No lacing. Modest effervescence.

S: Ripe fuzzy fruits, especially peaches, some resin, instant tea, and biscuity malts. An unexpected note of strawberry. I'm tempted to say grapefruit, but I never quite get there.

T: Tongue disappoints. Light, general fruit joins stronger resin. Malts taste more toasty. Relative bitterness is strong. Finish is bitter and grainy.

M: Light body and medium-light carbonation. Out of the growler the beer drinks as though it were on cask.

O: All Day IPA drinks packs quite a bit of smell and taste for being a lower ABV beer. It feels a little too "on the fence" though, meaning it isn't quite a session beer or a proper IPA. Still, it is quite drinkable due to its simplicity and lower ABV.

A - The beer is a golden-orange/yellow color with a finger of white head. The head fades fairly quickly leaving behind some light lacing.

S - The aroma is a mix of some sweet malt and some piney hops. There is also some grapefruit aromas mixed in as well.

T - Starts off with a mix of piney hops and some bitterness with a bit of sweet malt in the background. Through the middle, some stronger grapefruit hops and some more bitterness come through. The finish is a mix of hops and bitterness with a touch of sweet malt that lingers.

M - Medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels very smooth and crisp. The beer also feels fairly dry, especially with the bitterness as the finish.

D - Extremely drinkable. Very interesting IPA with as much flavor as it has with the rather low abv level. It is very flavorful and does not sacrifice flavor.

A- Clear amber with slight carbonation. No lacing or head really, with the exception of a ring of carbonation on the inner wall of the glass.

S- Pine and more pine. Very resinous.

T- Pine and slight citrus. Not a trace of malt. Slight skunk character in the hops. Substantial IBUs. Leaning towards DIPA, but a little light in both hops and definitely malts.

Tastes like a far bigger IPA than it is. I'd expect this to clock in between 6-7% if not knowing better.

M- Smooth and creamy. Medium body. Slightly dry and sticky finish. Carbonation is spot on.

O- Very drinkable. If you're looking for a hop forward IPA, this is the right drink.

Pours a lightly hazed gold color, moderate cap of white head, decent sticky lacing. Scent is hop forward, lots of grapefruit with touches of pine resin, very faint malt presence in the nose. Taste is quite bitter and hoppy, grapefruit forward with pine resin and lemon. Some mustyness and again a faint malt presence. Took a look at the ABV's posted at the bar and it was listed at 4.8%, so that should justify the low malt backbone. Lighter side of medium bodied, lightly sticky and dry finnish. Tasted pretty good, but overall just lacked a little sweetness to cut the bitterness.

on tap at kite and key in philly

Pours a clouded golden orange color with some yellow hues. Thicker white head retains for a bit, tons of lacing coats the glass.

Strong hop aroma with grapefruit and pine, some citrus juicyness and bready malts. Light sweetness with biting bitterness.

Hops bite right up front with citrus and grapefruit. Fairly juicy and balanced, some sweetness with tropical notes. Biscuit malt and faint caramel. Finishes dry, lingering, and hoppy.

Lighter medium body, higher carbonation, tingly and biting on the tongue. Drinks insanely well, great balance and flavor - I really hope they bottle this soon.

Had this on-tap at teh Winking Lizard in Bedford. It was served under the name "Endurance", but I guess it is more typicall known as the All-Day IPA. It was served to me in a pint glass. Pours a cloudy sun yellow with minimal head.

Has a lemony malt smell, with mild hop bitters. Otherwise, the aroma is rather subdued.

Has a clean, crisp start, with a light hop lemony/orange/grapefruit citrus taste. The fruity floral start gives way to a grassy grain middle, with a decent herbal backbone, before finishing rather dry.

Very light, crisp and clean tasting.

I found this to be a very tasty session beer. Easy drinking, yet ful of flavor. Please bottle (or can) this and sell it 12-packs for the summer!

On-tap at the West Lakeview Liquors Founders BBQ event during CCBW.

A - Pours a golden/orange color, white head, thin cap, slight spotty lacing.

S - Solid dose of bitter hops, pine, citrus, orange peel. The hops, pine, and citrus are wonderful and create a very nice nose. Nothing too overpowering and very solid for a 4.8% beer.

T - Pine, citrus, slight dank hops. Tastes "bigger" then 4.8% by far. I would say this is a 7-8% beer rather then 5%, very impressive.

M - Light, crisp, refreshing, with an oily finish.

O - I had a couple pours of this one, as it's just so easy to drink. Didn't totally blow me away or anything, but for what it is, it's def an excellent beer.
