A- pours a clear golden color with a small white head, reducing to just a skimming layer, short lasting lace

S- citrus hops with an earthy & herbal undertone, fresh cut grass with some dank hemp seed

T- sweet and malty up front with some graininess, notes of lemon-grass, the hops aren't really noticeable until the finish, lemony and pine, dry & slightly bitter finish

M- light-med body with low carbonation and foamy mouthfeel, clean and smooth finish, easily drinkable

O- pretty good flavor for the low ABV, not as much bitterness as a typical IPA, but it could easily be a session beer. For a hit summer day, this would be a fine choice

Bottled On: 12/26/11

Yellow gold with a bit of haze to it and a small, sticky pure white covering of a head. Mild sweet orange hop aroma - a light, but quality blend of floral, citrus, and pine. The flavor is again mild, but still showcases a nice selection of hops...fresh grass, pine, zesty citrus all over a bed of grain. Light bodied with a medium bitterness and finishing dry. Yeah, I could drink several of these. Hoppy pale ale? Light IPA? Whatever...tasty stuff!

A- Pale amber body with a thin white head. A slight hint of cloudiness, but overall looks very light bodied.

S- Very piney hop aroma along with some floral notes and a hint of grapefruit. Overall smells very good and approachable.

T- Packs a lot of hop flavor during the taste, but finishes rather light of flavor. Expected for the low abv, but there is almost no noticeable malt presence to balance the taste.

M- High carbonation, medium-light bodied. Definitely an easy-drinking session beer.

O-It is hard to judge this one based on the style, since the idea is a more sessionable IPA. On flavor alone, there are many more IPAs that pack more punch. As a sessionable IPA however, this one is very good.

Picked up a couple of singles from Total Wine at the end of April for $1.99 each. No freshness date.

Beer poured orange with a very smallish head that dissipated quickly.

Nose is of fresh citrus hops.

Taste has hints of mango, with a good dose of citrus.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with decent carbonation to make it somewhat refreshing.

Overall this is a very nice brewing job. Plenty of flavor is packed into this small beer. Don't expect a full on IPA beer here but definitely give it a shot if you want to sample a nice recipe.

Got this one in Buffalo during this year's GABER event. Cheers!

From a can into a snifter
IBU: 42

APPEARANCE: Pours a small, one finger, looser, foamy, off-white head with good retention. Clear amber gamboge in color with medium levels of carbonation. Head fades to a foamy wisp only. Looks a little flat by the end and leaves no real lacing to speak of. Lack luster for the style.

SMELL: Lots of hops here. Honeydew melon, grapefruit, caramel and hints of lemon. Lots of cascade hops. Bold enough as well.

TASTE: Grassy up front with melon and some citrus bitterness at the swallow. Medium aftertaste of grapefruit bitterness, grassy hops, some melon and lemon citrus flavors linger on the palate. Flavorful stuff.

PALATE: Medium body and medium levels of carbonation. Light on the palate, somewhat foamy, goes down fine and finishes dry.

OVERALL: This was actually really nice. I've been overwhelmingly unimpressed with the new craze on session IPA's, as they're usually just watered down versions of their forefathers. This one isn't as robust or impressive as the real thing, but it's well done and is plenty enjoyable in that man-it's-hot-and-I-want-a-quick-one kind of way. The look could use some work, but otherwise, this is a solid, solid effort in this style. Recommended.

Founders All Day IPA has a fairly thick, foamy, off-white head, a somewhat hazy (suspended sediment), bubbly, burnished gold appearance, and a bit of residual lacing. Aroma is pineapple, hop resin, and white bread. Taste is the same, with moderate bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Founders All Day IPA finishes semi-dry, easy drinking, and refreshing. Overall, an excellent example of a ho-hum style. Elevated price and disappointing presentation, in the overall scheme of things.
