Great overall session IPA, awesome hop taste, hints of citrus, I would recommend this beer to anyone who loves IPA's. Founders Brewery is a neat spot if you are in Grand Rapids MI you should check it out, They have a great selection of top notch beers and great sandwiches.

Single can from a friend, no apparent date code. Poured into an All Day IPA pint glass.

A: Pours a hazy golden body with an inch of soapy, white head. The head hangs around for a few minutes, but eventually recedes to a wispy cap, leaving no lacing as I drink. It looks like a decent, but not spectacular, IPA.

S: Opening the can releases quite the burst of aroma; in the glass, I get an ample display of citrusy hops and fairly strong grain scent. Not bad at all for such a "small" beer.

T: A bit of citrusy hops, some more generic hop bitterness, and a lot of grain. Finishes with an interplay of hop bitterness and malt sweetness, though as the beer warms more of a lingering grainy bitterness shows up. On the whole, the flavor is good, but I don't see myself drinking this "all day."

M: Medium-bodied, with a grainy mouthfeel. I wasn't expecting much, and it delivers.

O: As an IPA, this would be a one-time beer for me. As a "Session IPA," it really does manage to hit all the notes while keeping the ABV low.

This is an amazing beer. Something that you can truly drink ALL DAY! Hmmm, wonder if that has anything to do with the name of the beer?

Great golden color and very clear. Small inch head that dissipates quickly with mild lacing. Probably one of the reason I enjoyed drinking this beer so much was from the mouthfeel. It was so smooth and light.

It is not an overpowering hoppy IPA, but still has a great hop taste. Minimally bitter. And can be enjoyed ALL DAY as it is a session beer.

Overall: I loved it and would drink it as a go to daily beer. In fact, I might just do that with St. Patrick's Day coming up in Savannah, Georgia in a week!

A- Dark yellow/light orange with a thin head that doesn't lace.

S- Tropical fruit, Citrus, Pine, Funk, and fresh apple aromas. It smells clean and refreshing.

T- Slightly sweet upfront with a burst of tropical fruit. Citrus and pine make an appearance in the middle followed by a mellow bitter finish.

M- Medium-light bodied with low carbonation. It is also slick on the tongue.

O- A very tastey and refreshing beer. It's the perfect beer when you're craving flavor but not an abundance of bitterness or alcohol.

I could drink this beer all day. Hey!!! I think that's what Founder's had in mind. One of the most deliciously refreshing beers I've ever had. Perfect for a hot day by the pool. Won't get you too smashed either. Really a very solid, well balanced IPA. Citrus notes, pleasant bitter finish. I honestly can't think of a better beer to accompany you while mowing the lawn or on a trip to the beach.

12oz can poured into a tulip glass. THis is the third one I've had today.

A: Translucent rust body with a two finger soapy bone colored head. Head went down quickly to a cap leaving good lacing.

S: Grapefruit and pine, along with some floral and citrus scents.

T: Slightly bitter some hopes are present in the taste.

M: Proper carbonation body while a bit thin for the style is thicker then many beers for the ABV

O Its a good IPA, I like that is session able however Its too expensive for what it is. Also its got a fair amount of body so while consumption is easier then most IPAs its harder then your average AAL, this makes it a bit more work to catch a buzz, although this could be seen as a positive for some I suppose.

Poured out of a 12 oz can into one of my pint glasses, this beer pours a mainly clear, slightly hazy medium golden color with a bit of a copper/amber hue. The fluffy white head is a good inch or so thick when first poured that eventually settles to a nice medium sized ring lining the surface of the beer and the inside of the glass. Not much foam on the surface otherwise or lacing though. Wish there was more of both. Aromas of some caramel grainy malt sweetness followed by citrus hops. the taste pretty much follows suit wit some grainy caramel malt sweetness upfront that gives way to a very nice citrus hop bitterness backbone on the back of the tongue. Very nice balance, but the citrus hop bitterness is the slightly stronger of the 2 flavors here. Has a crisp, frothy, slightly creamy, slightly prickly, smooth medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Easy to drink in the way well crafted beer should be. For an easy drinking session IPA, as expected, Founders does pretty well here!

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass.

APPEARANCE: golden, amber, cloudy with 1 finger head that dissipated quickly leaving a thin layer of foam that lasted throughout. There was a good amount of lacing on the glass, light carbonation.

SMELL: sweet malt, flowers, piney hops, pepper. Very pleasant.

TASTE: The taste does not exactly follow the nose, this is a hop dominant IPA with no hint of the flowery sweet malt that you get in the smell. The hops are pleasant but do not overpower making this very drinkable.

PALATE: this is a medium body beer with lighter carbonation.

OVERALL: This is a very good IPA and I would but it again. It's low in alcohol (4.7%) compared to most IPA's I've tried which means I can enjoy more of it. The name is very fitting because you could drink this all day while fishing. This is the second beer I've had from Founders. They have yet to disappoint me.

A: Golden yellow color and not so clear.

S: Usual pale ale type of aroma: pine, grass, hops.

T: Pineapple, grass, wheat (a character I really like about this one), fresh wet hops, apple skins, lemon, and a touch of malt.

M: This has more of a 'smooth' type of feel. Not bad at all.

O: Not a bad beer. This is especially good for sessioning, obviously.

Wow, an excellent beer that I'd never heard of before. Of course, there's lots of beers that fit that qualification, probably. A bit of pine, didn't detect or miss lemon, worked well with the jalapeno-spiced food that I enjoyed with the beer. Clear and pleasantly deep golden color, with no hint of malt. A quality IPA, and one that I will look for and drink again (next time in warmer weather).

sports a lightly-spicy hop bitterness that packs a soft punch.... tastes kind of like grapefruit or orange sparkling Pellegrino, lacking a good bit of that malt backbone and undercurrent of alcohol that I've come to associate with US IPAs.... super-light body for an IPA (reminds me of some comparable lower-gravity UK "IPA"s).... not sweet in the least, in fact, it's pretty bone dry.... crazy drinkable to those who enjoy the flavors of an American IPA, but want something lighter and 'sessionable'.... what it offers in drinkability is unique, though the overall taste is relatively familiar

Poured from the bottle to a cheater pint.

A: dark orange with a 1 finger head that dissipated into a 1 mm collar. Clear with minimal carbonation.

S: Bitter oranges, sewery pale euro hop. Children's chewable aspirin. Some light pale malt sprinkles through. yeast was for one purpose.

T: Follows nose, and is mildly interesting. Has that elevated Heineken thing going on, not a bad thing...just "that's the thing" going on. bitter orange and tangerine and a hint of modern hops like Mosaic.

M: medium fullness, kinda tart citrus. The aftereffect is pure strange bitter orange and baby aspirin. Very strange.

O: This is a fairly well regarded brew, and at 4.7 ABV you could certainly drink a ton of it. It is pretty good, but only a can and a summer day would warrant its use, IMO. Far better than BMC for that purpose.

Very flavorful for 4.7%! I think this will be in my fridge alot this summer.
A-Pours a nice golden amber color, very little head, not very good retention.
S-Wow, this smells awesome. Floral, grapefruity spicy-grassy if that makes sense. Really nice.
T-We have a winner! The only other beer at this ABV that has as much flavor IMO, is Stone Levitation. The hops are really in your face, but it completely lacks a malt balance, but thats okay. This will really be great in the summer.
M-Thin, and thats a good thing. Super drinkable.
Overall, I am quite impressed with how much taste the fit in such a low ABV beer. Definitely picking this up again.

Appearance: Clear orange with a lot of bubbles. Light head with not much staying power.

Smell: Hoppy. Sweet. Fruity.

Taste: Light yet hoppy. Hops really get you on the back of the tongue. The sweetness in the aroma doesn't come through in the taste.

Mouthfeel: It is light and thin. This is strange with all of the hop flavor. This is however the intent of the beer.

Overall a decent beer that is low in alcohol and easy to drink. I would like a little more balance towards the malt side.

Figured I would give this one a go... I had heard from multiple friends that it is a great session IPA. Anyway, got a growler fill of it. Looks OK in the glass, pretty much what you would expect a session IPA to be, very low on the SRM chart with a generous amount of carbonation. First impression on the nose was extremely more skunky than expected... almost smelled like B.O. Taste is overwhelmingly B.O. I hate to say it, but this one was a drain pour. In fact, it was so bad that I had to go grab some bottles at the local shop to see if it was just a bad keg. Nope. Bottles had the exact characteristics all around.

Another Founders!
I've read about this one and was waiting to taste it. Poured a clean crisp yellowish type typical American lager. At 50IBU, I wasnt expected much in terms of hop and bitterness.. But at the first smell, I was amazed just how hoppy this bouquet was. Your typical grassy, grapefruity, citrus nose. I thought I was about to dive into a 100IBU Beer.

Then the first taste!. AGAIN! WOW for a 50IBU beer, this had plenty of HOPS without a lot of the bitterness. This beer drank so easily and so enjoyable. I could have this one over and over.. It could easily be my spring and summer beer.

The only slight fault I had, was that the finish left me somewhat hanging. This beer started slowly, that went on full charge, then as I was finishing, it started to finish just right and WHAM, my legs were taken under me. The beer just dropped off. The citrus which should finish nicely, just left me with an unsettled citrus flavor.

12/27/13
The last couple of days, I have had a number of these. And I have enjoyed each one better than the one before it. I turned on 3 people to this one and they all loved it. Its still so crisp and drinkable.. Almost chug-able, but at the same time, I can sit back and slowly sip it and enjoy it.

Appearance - A darker IPA than some. It pours with a very slight head and seems to be unfiltered.
Smell - The most prominent smell is grapefruit which I especially like in a good IPA.
Taste - Again, the grapefruit takes center stage which is more than adequate for me.
Mouthfeel -Light mouthfeel and a decent amount of carbonation.
Overall - This is a fantastic IPA. This has been my go to beer for the last two outings of a fishing weekend that involves playing long sessions of Texas Hold' Em. Everyone else at the table thinks I'm drinking a 8-9% DIPA and they are drinking 5% Buds. so I think I have a leg up on them.

After pouring into a glass, this beer just looks great. Light golden hue with a decent head. I was a bit wary when the smell hinted at too much citrus but the actual taste was great. Low alcohol gives the ingredients a nice venue to be shown off. I loved the hopes with hints of grapefruit but not being overpowered by it. It was just so nice to have a flavorful yet clean IPA. Any downside this beer has is that it feels a little light, like with the flavor there should be more character to the beer. Overall I was very impressed and would definitely recommend.

A-Clear golden color with one finger white head. Decent lacing.

S-Nice fruity and citrus aroma with pineapple.

T-Taste is medium bitter with pineapple and citrus. Light on hops.

M-Medium body and average carbonation. Nice and hoppy aftertaste.

O-Overall this is really great and tasty IPA very light and the name suits it well.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into my mouth.
Finishing the night with this one.

A - Clear, clean. yellow/orange.

S- Not getting a ton of hop aroma out of this. Not sure on bottling date (can't find one that's readable) Non-descript "hoppy" presence although restrained.

T- To start off, obviously this is a "Session" beer. Seems watered down, almost an "ipa light" but that is sort of what they are advertising on the bottle. This is ending my night after having a couple and I'm not sure if my palette is too far gone to return to an easy drinker lightish beer. overall though, I'm not getting too much. It's hard for me to bill this as an IPA, more like a lower abv pale ale (but again, palette fatigue)

M- Crisp, clean, take a swig and it's gone. Dry and easy drinking.

Nice to see lower alcohol IPAs making more of a showing in the market. Sometimes I just want something a little lighter, but with flavor. This is one of the better ones- particularly when very fresh. when you a lovely floral hop aroma and flavor- delicate, but definitely flavorful. It does fade fairly quickly on the shelf, so freshness is key. A nice option.

Poured from a 12 fluid ounce bottle into an IPA glass. No freshness date.

Appearance: A modest white head forms above a golden amber body. The body is hazy but translucent. It looks very pleasant when held up to light.

Smell: Citrus drenched hops. Minor notes of bready grains.

Taste: The bitterness from the hops hits the tongue first. Pretty straightforward citrus notes... grapefruit in particular. Malts were there, just did not give off significant notes.

Mouthfeel: Medium carbonation. Medium-Light body.

Overall: All Day IPA is a pretty straightforward IPA. The hops are not as wild as other varieties but they pack a clean, fresh punch that makes this beer enjoyable to drink. I would say this is a textbook example of a "weekend beer".

A: Nice golden body with a white head that sticks around long enough. Leaves sticky lacing down the sides of the pint glass.

S: What you'd expect from a lighter, session IPA. Hops of front reminiscent of fresh cut grass. Floral and citrus notes on the back.

T: Incredibly light and a easy entry beer for those new to craft. Doesn't have an overwhelming hop presence like you'd find in bigger IPAs. The beer tastes incredibly fresh.

M: Lighter mouthfeel, easy drinking. Very much a beach beer.

O: Solid offering even though I don't choose it too often. Very light for those wanting to drink a few without feeling the effects.

Poured from a bottle.
Looks like a nice clean pale ale. Nothing overly memorable.
Smells like hops. Not as citrusy as some other IPAs
Tastes like hops. Not a lot of balance here. This is just a very hoppy beer.
Mouthfeel is what you'd expect from a very hoppy IPA without a lot of balance. Finish is bitter.
Overall: not one of my favorites in this category:
