I've been drinking the double IPA's all winter but since warm temps are finally here in OH I want to get outside and get some work done at least somewhat sober! 8.5% - 11.5% would give me crooked mower lines so this is the perfect combination of great taste and lower ABV.

The color, smell and feel is about the same as other lower alcohol summer brews but taste is that of a higher end beer. At only $17.99 for a 15 pack is a great deal for a hot summer day when working outside.

I was a little sad after ordering when I discovered that this is a session ale :-)
It's one of the few IPAs I've ever had that I thought had too little hops. Nice slightly orangish color with a good off white head. The smell is a nice west coast citrusy smell (cascade hops?). The taste is likewise dominated by the hops although I also get a little watery on the finish; that may be attributable to the lower ABV. It's a good beer although probably not going to be on my regular rotation.

12 oz can, canned on 12/31/15. Pours hazy golden orange with a medium fluffy white head that retains well and leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is fruity bready malt with piney hops.

The flavor is bready malts with tangy fruit and piney resiny hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a very nice session IPA - one of my favorites with Stone's Go To IPA.

appearance: Light to golden orange with a one finger head that is pretty bubbly and fluffy
Aroma: Very hoppy with citrus notes. The beer has a malt smell with a slightly off undertone. Kind of some kind of funk
Taste: Hoppy with a light taste. Easy to drink "all day" with the low ABV and a refreshing aftertaste.
Overall: good beer with a great taste. Very popular with everyone who drinks it.

I just realized I picked up a 4 month old six pack, but here it goes. Pours a golden orange with a one finger, white, fluffy head. a good amount of carbonation, with lacing down the side.
A nice balance of citrus hop and malt smell. A little bit of funk.
More bitter than citrus in the taste. A little funk in the end.
Mouthfeel is medium for a session pale ale.
I like more citrus in my session ipa.

Bright citrus in the aroma. Orange and mango, followed with a touch of bready malts and sweet honey. Hints of pine and spice build as it warms. Strawberry, floral, and grassy, hide behind the upfront citrus aroma.

Pours clear orange/amber with an off-white head. Good retention and lacing.

Juicy citrus upfront giving way to berries and piney bitterness. The finish is dry and bitter with little lingering citrus character, interestingly enough. Malt is not as present on the palate. The finish seems a touch empty.

Medium low body with medium carbonation. Somewhat resiny, but mostly clean.

A solid beer, definitely better than many of the session IPAs out that taste of carbonated hop water, but there are better ones out there.

Medium gold color with an inch head. Aroma has some light citrus, taste is mainly hops but still decently balanced. Light bodied, pleasing after taste. The perfect weekday beer and a good change up from a pilsner as a lighter option.

Nearly a finger's worth of a white, sparse, but big-bubbly foam. Headless within the minute, with only a small ring of bubbles remaining for a while. Carbonation is very lively. This beer is all action. Deep gold in color, hazy- an interesting contrast of murky and vibrant in appearance. Doesn't quite do justice to what experience the beer itself has in store for ya. This is the only aspect of the beer that isn't an apposite pairing to a summer's day.

The aroma is fantastic. It is hop-forward, a moderate intensity hop aroma of pineapple, herbs, flowers, and mangos. Mellow pine rolls in like a mountain breeze, however the general bent of this aroma is toward the tropical. Very, very nice! A very enticing aroma for a session beer.

Taste is so clean and refreshing. The pine starts it all off, but in a very delicate way. The low alcohol content allows the fruity aspects to shine through cleanly and for the whole of the sip, though the flavor could not be called incredibly complex. Pineapple, rainwater, and a slight citric tartness are there. Maybe a bit of crackery malt.

Bitterness is quite nice, perfect for the mildly puckering tart qualities of the hop flavors. Body is light, crisp, gulp-inspiring. So fresh, so clean.

Still the touchstone for session IPAs, a style I am coming to love more and more. An enduringly enjoyable choice for a six-pack. On a warm day. When you have time to kill slowly.

Typical IPA, Clear yellow color with a touch of murky. Aroma has some pine and citrus. Same with the flavor. Bitter finish. Orange Rind. Hoppy. Good carbonation. The lower alcohol doesn’t really make this more drinkable imho. Pleasant nonetheless."

L: bright pale gold body with little off-white head. Did not have much retention

S: Did not have the full aroma qualities. Citrus and grassy is what I wrote down.

T: Bitterness with mildly balanced malt backbone. Citrus and little piney resin in the back but not very apparent.

F: It feels very clean and refreshing. Very high drinkability. As common with the style, it has higher carbonation helps keep it light and refreshing,

Appearance: Light gold and pretty clear with a few tiny hop particles floating around. Small thin head.

Aroma: not very pronounced, quite muted. I smell some floral action, a little bit of piney hops but nothing complex. A little bit of caramely bready malts. Orangey candy and citrus oils.

Flavor: Soft hop bite. Mellow crisp dry beer. Its evident this beer is going for balance and smooth drinkability. Not very bitter at all, even for a session but you at least get something, The bitter lingers a bit throughout the middle of the palate even though its a dry semi clean brew. THere are some stone fruit characters but for some reason I can pinpoint them right now. Everything is kind of hard to detect for some reason.

Mouthfeel: light, light - medium minus carbonation. its pretty solid for a session. It's called all day for a reason. I cant see this tiring out anyones palate. Its refreshing, crisp and easy going.

Overall: it's pretty good.... and i just realized why it was so mellow and muted. Bottled: 12/08/15

This one pours a nice golden color with a small white head. The scent is very tropical with slight hint of different fruits. The taste is mild but follows the smell, with subtle additions of hoppiness. Being a lighter IPA, it sits easy.

Pours a cloudy golden color with a poorly retained one inch head and minimal lacing. Citrus, hoppy armoma. Taste is very mild, one of the dryer IPA's that I've had, hints of orange and grapefruit, mild bitterness. Overall light and very drinkable, but nothing special.

Pours a slightly hazy yellow with a foamy, not creamy head. Great citrus-hoppy aroma. Mild taste that gives you the gist of an IPA, but definitely lighter in flavor and duration of flavor. Good if you plan on having a few. You can enjoy the aroma in lieu of the full complexity of flavor in a full-fledged IPA.

12 oz can poured into nonic pint

A refreshing, fresh-looking, copper-tan ale yields notes of citrus rind, flower stems, mint and coriander. The nose has a slightly lemony bend. Dry and crisp on complexion, perhaps a bit too dry, as the hops bitter toward the finish, leaving a slight astringency between sips. However, the light complexion and citrusy undertone makes this easy to throw back, and would hit the spot on a hot day

I had this out of a 12oz can. I really was not feeling this IPA, personally it was very light and watered down in taste. On the plus side it did not really have a bitter aftertaste and is a good session beer (just not my kind of beer).

Pours a golden yellow hue with some murkiness, and a nice fluffy off white head. Aromas of berries and summer melons hit me first. Flavors follow with some grassy hops, some grapefruit and a hint of tangerine. Thin mouthfeel with clean bitterness and carbonation. As a session IPA, this is up there with Easy Jack for benchmark of the style.

On tap at City Tap House. Glad to see this listed as a session, as it was fairly light on the palate. So for the style, it was right in the wheelhouse, on look, aroma and taste Full bodied and full flavored, a benchmark for the style.e.

This is the best session IPA. It's not as good as Julius and Artaic, but it's not supposed to be. It's supposed to be delicious hoppy Coors Light, which it is. It's a very light, citrus hopped IPA.

This is a great session IPA that is really a benchmark for me, as I compare all other session ipa's to it as a baseline. A wonderful hop presence that is huge up front, but not bitter on back. Great job

2/7/16 drinking, 11/11/15 bottled on

L: bright pale gold, strong clarity, thin white head that quickly settled out. Poor head retention

S: Low aromatics, clean, slightly sweet, light tangerine or orange. Lack of strong aromatics

T: Balanced bitterness, with some mild bready background. Hop flavors of citrus and some piney resin in the back, but overall fairly low prominence for an IPA. Very high drinkability, which goes for it being a session ale. Some very low lingering citrus peel, but mostly a clean end once you swallow.

F: Higher carbonation helps keep it light and refreshing, scrubbing bubbles keeping it easy to consume and palate cleansing. Lighter body is bulked up by the carbonation, helping to prevent a watery session ale feel.

O: A very drinkable session IPA with a nice palate cleansing level of elevated carbonation and clean bitterness. Stronger aromatics would be nice, and a more pronounced hop flavor, but this bottle also is almost 3 months old, so I'm not surprised if things died down some. "All Day" is right, as I could see a summer day of bbq and downing several without feeling overwhelmed.

12-oz can into Belgian ale glass

A - 2-finger off-white head over a slightly-cloudy body of golden amber, high visible carbonation

S - grapefruit, touch of tropical fruit, maybe a little floral

T - grapefruit, touch of pine, floral, crackers

M - light/medium body, highly carbonated

O - I guess I'm just not big on session IPAs. They have the smell and taste of regular IPAs, but toned down. I would prefer full-strength smell, taste, and body. That said, for a session ale this is pretty decent.

The head goes away just like if it was soda. Smell is amazing and citrusy. Initial taste is pretty bitter and kind of flat. I would rather prefer ponto than this but I still love the smell of the all day IPA better

Serving type: 12 oz bottle into a pint glass

Pours a opaque golden honey color with visible sediment. Smells of pineapple, mango, tropical fruit sweetness, slight vegetal hops, and a slight guava scent. Taste reflects the smell with slightly diluted fruity hops taste. Initial fruit flavors of pineapple and mango lead into a semi-sharp hops dank. Finishes dry with a short lived hoppy flavor. Feel is semi-light with ample carbonation. It is pleasant, ideal for a session IPA. Overall this is a good beer that is tasty and pleasant.
