Style: American Brown Ale

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 9.00%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
This bold, imperial brown ale gets its body from a team of malts including Caramel malt for sweetness, flaked barley for dense foam, a bit of Chocolate malt for its deep color and Aromatic and Munich malts to add even more depth. German and Perle hops add a touch of bitterness to balance the malty sweetness. The addition of rich Sumatra coffee takes this perfectly balanced imperial brown ale to a decadent level.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is pitch black with red highlights and a marge tan head. The aroma is coffee and malt. The ABV is well hidden and the taste follows the nose.

Look: Deep brown and the edges of it are red. There was practically no head at all with a very gentle pour.

Smell: Coffee up front and is followed by subtle notes of chocolate.

Taste: All I detected was coffee.

Feeling: Despite the high alcohol prescence there was little to no mouth tingle or burn felt here.

Overall: Was an alright beer, kind of overrated.

My experience was with this beer on nitro. The look was everything a dark beer should be think white head, rich brown color below the head. Smell and taste strong of the coffee it was brewed with. Feel is very heavy on the tongue sweetness really hanging around. love it hopefully can finish later

12 oz bottle

Darkish brown, ruby red colored highlights, cream colored head. Nice coffee aroma. Nice bready sweetish malt flavor with balancing coffee bitterness. Medium bodied. Nice beer, good alternative to all the coffee porters/stouts.

Appearance: Very dark brown, you can't see through it but if held up to a light you are able to see it faintly through the darkness and see that it is clear. Two fingers of slightly creamy tan foam that sticks around. Delicious lacing all the way through.

Aroma: The Sumatran coffee comes through big right off the bat. Dark chocolate and roasty malt is in the background.

Taste: Big mouth fool of chocolate is the first thing you get. This is followed up by the coffee and some hoppy bitterness. There is a lingering coffee flavor. Alcohol warmth is slight.

Mouth feel: Smooth, rich medium body.

Overall: Drinking this was a wonderful experience.
