12 oz bottle poured into snifter

A: pitch black in color not much of a head but it was on the colder side when I poured it a little film rims the glass

S: licorice bakers chocolate roasty malts

T: very nice chocolate and roasted malts with some light licorice

M: a touch thin but not as thin as some porters the creamy full mouth feel. makes this beer feel like its a weightier version

O: Excellent its a superbly done porter, while it might not bring anything new to the porter game it is flawlessly executed. Its big rich malty and nice chocolate tones with a fairly creamy mouthfeel you can't ask for much more in a porter

Part of my black booty bif from csmiley. 6.5% abv on the label.

Holy lacing, this foam is in for the long haul. It stays hot chocolate brown too. Very hazy black beer with creamy yeast floaters.

Dusty and roasty, how I like my porters. Could be an English stout too.

Deep sweet roasted flavors and a firm touch of noble bitterness. Silky mouthfeel, with a big sticky malt body. Would be great on cask. Acidity isn't a problem. Long fallout, with equal bitterness matched by both the hops and roasted grain. Lots of carmel malt.

Not much else too say except it's a simple but well-made beer, which makes it eminently drinkable. More please! Cheers!

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Dogfish Head Snifter glass.

A: Deep dark brown as expected. Aggressive pour leads to a half-finger light brown colored head. Lacing is consistent and plentiful.

S: Good cocoa, chocolate malts, blackberry, molasses and a touch of coffee.

T: Follows the nose with the chocolate up front. The toasted malts take a back seat and avoid the bitterness that may come along.

M: Perfectly carbonated, creamy, smooth finish.

O: Perfect porter, really. Excellent beer.

A:
Pours a ridiculously dark ruby-tinged black with a perfect two fingers of rocky reddish brown head that airily settles to a quarter inch and then a fat film. Very good retention; some splotches of lacing.

S:
Sweet, dark, and earthy. Dark fruits, leather, roasty malt aromas, bubblegum, licorice. Lots going on. Very nice.

T:
Rich, full, nutty. Flat, unobtrusive burnt flavors right up front with a nutty taste underneath and a decadent finish. Burnt toast, coffee, roast nuts, vanilla, rum, dirt, wood. Delicious.

M:
Coating, velvety palate with a nice creamy character. Full-bodied with nice carbonation to off-set what is otherwise a very rich, coating beer. Lovely slow toasty finish.

O:
Fantastic porter.
Pours beautifully and has a very aromatic, toasty, woody, phenolic nose. Tastes like a porter should with nice roasted bitterness mellowed by nutty malt notes and a velvety, creamy texture that makes it a joy to sit and slowly drink. It took a while to pick out the hops because they are kind of in the background, they seem to really mellow the rest and brighten the overall flavor of it and make it a bit more drinkable.
Would have again (damn distro...); worth searching high and low for.

My favorite porter, right along side Edmund Fitzgerald.

Dark smooth, just as the doctor ordered
