Notes:
We love a well-balanced brown ale. Especially a brown ale of the hazelnut coffee persuasion. Case in point: Frangelic Mountain Brown. Initially brewed and released in bottles in 2012, this deliciously sweet and nutty coffee brown ale quickly became a favorite amongst beer fans and inspired us to continue pushing the coffee and beer envelope. Turns out your new favorite coffee drink is a beer.

Smells sweet and mainly of hazelnut, even the coffee notes are restrained compared to the hazelnut.
Taste is pretty similar, very sweet, lots of hazelnut, some subtle coffee.
This is a good beer, not amazing but perfectly drinkable. I don't see why everyone has been shitting on this beer so much.

750ml bottle shared by jdiddy. Pours a beautiful mahogany color with a loose head that dissipates into a soapy skim with clustered dollops. Nose expresses a huge hazelnut and coffee presence. Taste follows nose; however, there is a distinct artificial sweetener character with a slightly bitter and lingering aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium-light in body with a crisp, even carbonation. I can honestly say that 3-4 oz. was more than a sufficient pour. The artificial sweetener is just a bit too much in my opinion. If you plan on opening this, make sure you have some help.

Pours dark brown with reddish tinge SUPER thick off white light brown head. Smells overpoweringly like hazelnut coffee. Low carbonation. Taste exactly like it smells - super strong hazelnut coffee! Not a big hazelnut fan but here its great.

Dark chocolate nutty nose leads to dark chocolate nutty flavor. Think biting into dark chocolate candies with nuts. Medium body, medium creamy mouthfeel. Finishes with a smooth dryness with coffee notes.

Pours a murky brown poor without much of a head. Jose is tons of hazelnut, sugary brown malts. Taste opens up with brown sugar mts that move on to loads of hazelnut coffee. Ends with more hazelnut flavors. Mouth is watery, yet full. Overall, this is a decent offering from Founders - bold in hazelnut, which makes it a little one dimensional, but still pretty solid.

A-murky brown with a thin cream colored head
S-light scent of dark grains, pumpernickel, and hazelnut.
T-awesome thick taste of creamy hazelnut. Absolutely reminds me of hazelnut coffee. Great tasting in and out
M-medium creamy carbonation with a creamy finish.
O-it's pretty awesome but it's a bit of a novelty. It tastes so true to flavor and with any flaws that it almost doesn't even taste like a beer. It's good though. I recommend it but I won't get it again.
