I really liked this beer...very complex with a lot of different flavors. You could definitely detect the maple bourbon influences throughout, including the nose, initial flavor, and the finish. It was a little fizzier than what I prefer, but it was not too much. Medium body, nice tan froth from beginning to end, and medium hoppiness. Well balanced overall. Fun!

Enjoyed at Founder's a few months back. From tasting notes:

Oily, viscous legs and a caramel-white rim. Golden-ruby body, almost clear. Little to no carbonation. Medium-heavy lacing

Smells of sweet candy sugars, brown sugar rye. Hardly any bourbon despite the aging.

Very sweet. Light bourbon, thick malt punch. Syrupy mouthfeel, maple-syrup flavors. The aftertaste follows the aromas- this might be the most candylike beer I've had. It tastes like the outside of a cherry blowpop. A massive beer that unrolls and develops long after it's swallowed down. Resiny, oily, chewy, sweet, massive. Delicious, but no way I'm stomaching two of these! I shudder to imagine the calorie count of even this 8 oz. pour!

On tap @ Founders. Served in to snifter.

A - Dark amber with a small layer of cream coloured head.

S - Bourbon, caramel, toffee and maple.

T - Big bourbon and oak up notes front followed by The caramel, maple and toffee. The base beer and the barrel characteristics are well integrated.

M - Medium body. Creamy. Light carbonation.
