750 Ml poured into a snifter

A- Pours a very clear light orange/golden color with a nice foamy white head. Nice retention and some alcohol legs.

S- Not really a strong and in your face type of nose on this beer. A subtle mango in the back end. Some peaches as well. A slight cinnamon or pepper possibly. Sweeter then I imagined it would smell. Smells somewhat like a mango pie would smell like.

T- WOW. A big spiciness on the first sip, nothing like I have ever really tasted. A hot pepper spiciness. Almost mouth watering hot spiciness. This beer is the equivalent of sweet and spicy hot wings. Beneath all of the spiciness is a rich mango flavor. A ripe mango with more of peach feel and flavor to it. A sweet and spicy(very) brew. Fruity and lively. A plain malt backbone extenuates and helps focus on the mango.

M- A full bodied beer yet easy drinking. Alcohol is well hidden and this beer goes down very smooth. The spiciness in this beer makes you want to go for another sip. Beware of this dangerous brew.

O- One of the worlds best breweries going outside the box to try something different had me worried at first especially with a few of their backstage series being laskluster. It totally paid off, this is a one of kind beer that is both delicious and exciting. This beer has the novelty factor of Pumking or something along those lines with quality in check, it will probably be a love/hate type of brew. I should warn that this beer is VERY spicy for a beer, people who do not enjoy spicy foods beware because this will numb your mouth with deliciousness. Well done Founders on reminding us that we can make up our own rules while brewing.

Poured a beautiful orange golden color. The nose is of sweetness of the mango well hiding the habanero. The taste is well IMO bad to be mild this great sweet mango flavor completely destroyed by the habanero peppers. the mouth feel was smooth except for the burn of the habanero was too much. Over all I was only able to drink about 2oz from the bomber.

Founders Mango Magnifico

Poured from a 22 oz bottle into two CBS snifters. Served chilled... Happy to have split this one with my buddy Paul.

A) Golden brew with a slight amber tint. A good finger of foam was generated. This quickly dissipated. Not much lacing.

S) The mango is refreshing on the scent while this is fairly cold, but at room temp the habanero and alcohol are more prevalent. The aroma is pretty sweet overall...

T) Follows the nose pretty closely, however the habanero pepper is honestly a bit much for me at the finish. I enjoyed the mango component, but the transition to the heat was rough. The 10% ABV was well hidden.

M) Medium to full bodied, with soft carbonation. Sticky, kind of syrupy. I did not appreciate the habanero from a mouthfeel standpoint.

O) I didn't know what to expect with this brew, but I am now of the opinion the mango habanero should be left to the folks at Buffalo Wild Wings. I will give Founders credit for creativity, and being bold with their brewing. Some will no doubt love this offering, but it was just not for me.

Poured into a tulip. This pours golden with a thick cap of white head. Looks great!

The aroma has a nice citrus hop aroma with hints of tropical fruit in the background. Mango for sure with some hints of vegetables. The pallet is a touch sweet with citrus in the background. Hot for sure with. It's a nice heat that creeps up on you and doesn't over power. It gives off a nice lingering after burn.

The body is medium with good carbonation. A bit oily on the finish with a nice lingering heat. Overall this one is nice to try. Enjoyable to have but it does get spicy after a few sips. Really glad to have this one.

All I can say about this beer is that it does not taste anything like a beer. Oh sure it looks the part but it is way too sweet and the heat from the peppers does nothing to balance the sweetness. There is no hop, barley or malt presence at all. I would not buy again.

Ambitious clusters of bubbles rise through the syrupy, perfectly clear orange body to form a coarse white head that fades to petri dish-circles and a ring. Smell is overly sweet dried fruit mix; mango, peach, pineapple, sawdust. Chemical fruit concentrate is more accurate. The flavor takes a dive even from this lowly loft. The first note is chalk, followed by tasty, if overly sweet, mango jam. The intermediate stage consists of more chalk, a very unpleasant medicinal cough syrup flavor, and faint ethanol. Habanero spice starts the late palate, finishing up with chalk and dirt. Body is sticky and syrupy, fine carbonation.
Getting lit is the only positive to this beer. Yet even 10% seems merely atmospheric when framed by the side effects; chalkiness, bitter medicine, outright alcohol, all barely mitigated by tropical fruit and well-paired heat, all of which was recklessly applied. Sometimes crazy visions turn into masterpieces, sometimes crazy visions turn into ridiculous and horribly flawed disasterpieces.

Ontap at Rattle n Hum, NYC. Great surprise. The spice in the aftertaste was both surprising & surprisingly good. Deceptive at 10%. Don't let the novelty or subtlty decieve. This is worth a try. Hope to cross paths again.
