In the language of realtors ... location, location, location. That is what brings people into this brewpub more than anything else. Years ago, this space was a revolving door of establishments that couldn't survive (33 Dunster Street, etc.). Harvard Sq. was ripe for a brewpub and this place fit the bill. It has been around for about 10 years and going strong. The food has been very good at times, the selection of beers is typically good, and the place is nicely divided between tables for dinner and pub like tables for those just going in for a drink. Because it is in the basement, there is no natural light, but they do compensate with faux stained glass and light streaming in through that. The beers have always been good, but not great. I've had so many different iterations of their porter and darker offerings that they tend to blend together. If you're in Harvard Sq and you like beer, this place is a must. If you want to track down better beer, go to Cambridge Brewing Co in Kendall Sq.

Stopped here before Harvard's home opener v Holy Cross in September. It was average. They had a beer from most styles on the menu and my wife and I both chose to go with the all seasonal harvest ale. Food was average. Cant go wrong with a burger but nothing to write home about.
