Wonderland's a bit of the beaten track, even for those of us with friends in Columbia Heights, but it has a half-decent selection of beers such Eggenberg Pils on draft and a beer garden. It is a dance hall style bar that is dark and dingy. We had a couple PBRs upstairs and it was empty at the time. I guess this is a place that gets crowded once there's a DJ as there's space upstairs to dance and all that. Not really a beer bar and I'm sure they dont clean their lines either. A hide-away dive bar to check out when you happen to be in the area.

Early summer brought 2 mai bocks then SN harvest ale on tap in .5 lter mugs, Spaten for a couple months, then hofbrau. Yummy SN Sothern hemisphere Harvest ale for a couple weeks.

Last visit the bartender thought the Bells WInter wit was the 2 Hearted ale. Had a lagunitas ipa insead. Rockabilly music on Sunday music is downstairs and gets crowded.

A cool place with interesting artwork, colorful posters, and a reasonable amount of space, especially upstairs where a raised platform is occupied by DJs and bands. They have 8-10 taps available (both on the 1st floor and upstairs). While I was there they had the following beers on-tap: Stone IPA, Guinness, Ayinger Bräu Weisse, Delirium Tremens, Eggenberg Pils, Yuengling, Anchor Steam, and 2 other beers (one of which was local). All beers were served with the appropriate glassware. In addition, all of the glasses were relatively large (16 - 20 oz.) and were around $5 per glass which was nice. The bartender told me they rotate the offerings fairly often, so I'll come back to see what else is on-tap. A few bottles were displayed behind the bar, but I didn't see anything special.
The biggest problem, if I can call it that, with this place is it's location. Columbia Heights isn't exactly the nicest area to be walking around at night. If I go back again, I'll be sure to take a taxi or even drive rather than take the Metro home.

Well, for what it's worth.. this place is great. Went there after a few soccer games this season, and after running around 100-degree heat for an hour- you'll drink just about anything. I certainly enjoyed the Delirium Tremens that they had available in bottles.. it was way better than my lemon-lime Gatorade. Of course it took me 20 minutes to get an order in, as the bartenders were busy doing inventory (on a Saturday evening!) and couldn't even tell me just to hang on a second. Hey, I'm no Brandi Chastain, but I can flash my chest too- for the right beer, of course. Once I took a sip of that elephant brew however- and bit into my dollar foot-long hotdog- I forgot all about it.
