The Brunswick Hotel

Dating back to the 1850s, the Brunswick Hotel is one of the oldest pubs in or near Melbourne. It's not fancy by any strech of the imagination, but the pub has a cozy atmosphere with strange nicknacks on the wall, a decent music selection and a pool table. It also boasts a unique beer selection for Melbourne.
Operated by a West Australian, the Brunswick has the full line of Fremantle's 'Little Creatures' selection, with Pale Ale, Pilsner and Rogers in the bottle and Pale Ale on tap (which is hard to find and in my opinion one of the best beers in Australia). The Brunswick also has Emu Bitter on tap (West Australia), Coopers (South Australia) as well as the standard CUB fare. In the cooler you'll find one of the better beer selections in the area. If you're a stout fan, give Southwark Stout a shot. You won't find it too many other places. All in all, a nice little pub, but again, don't expect to impress your girlfriend if you take her there. Unless she likes hard-to-find beers, that is.
