Poured in english pint.
Clear, dark amber in colour. 1-finger fluffy beige head with low retention. Aroma of caramel, plums, a bit citrusy owing to hops, that is typical for this brewery.
Flavour is smooth, gentle malt body, very good hopping. Unexpectedly bitter for scottish ale, soft carbonation. Williams Bros have created another masterpiece. Superb for scottish ales, excellent among other beers.

Poured a ruby amber brown. Good lacing and film. 500 mL bottle with freshness date. 4

S – warm honey malts, caramel and slightly roasty. Toasty hops, some dried fruitiness, and earthy hoppiness. Mild stone fruit and some nuttiness, nice and aromatic. Very pleasant and nicely balanced with some nice hop character. 4

T – malty body with some earthy woody characters. Caramel, citrus and light florals, mild woodshop character. Shows off more distinct hop character as it warms, light earthy fruity bitterness. Some sharper bitterness on the finish, pepper/mustard. Drying and crisp finish. 4

M – moderate body, rather light, light carbonation but nice and refreshing. Smooth crisp finish. 3.75

A nice session red ale, good balance, with pleasant flavor profile, easy to drink but overall not too exciting, a bit of a thin malt feel at times but overall quite pleasant, wouldn’t mind having it again. Very solid session beer. 3.75

500ml Bottle: poured into a UK pint sleeve at home on 1 Mar 2013. BBD of May 2013.

Being a Scottish Red Ale: it has, as you'd expect a red hue to its colour, although 'dirty dish water brown' might actually be a better discription in this instance. My beer had a cloudy disposition as well. The head looked good though, off-white foam blanket of a good thickness (Tog 3).

Sweet nose of toffee apples with a floral overtone: this carries on into the taste, caramel notes up the sweetness but luckily some hop bitterness calms it down somewhat, but it is still a sweet tasting brew. Red berries in the mix too: I quite liked it actually.

Different and interesting: might be too sweet for some. Pity about the misty look, otherwise I'd be scoring a bit higher.

Beer bottle (50 cl.) purchased from Cavavin (St Sébastien/Loire), tasted in 2012.

Appearance : red amber color, with white foamy head.
Smell : malts and caramel aromas.
Taste & mouthfeel : malty with caramel flavours, leading to lightly bitter finish.
Drinkability : a good beer in the style Scottish Ale.
