A cloudy amber coloured beer with a head which rapidly dissipates to the rim. Looks intriguing: it could yet taste like scrumpy. Smells of tangerines and maybe a hint of rhubarb. Smells promising. This is farily good, but the nose is rather misleading. In fact this tastes rather tart: raspberry with the aforementioned hint of rhubarb (sounds like a great pie). Carbonation is on the death by a million small bubbles side.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of Jan 2014. Picked up from Sainsbury's as one of their 2012 Beer Hunt contenders. Described on the label as an aromatic golden ale.
Poured into a tulip pint glass. An orange-amber hue with faint haze and light carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy off-white foam that lasts for a few minutes before reducing to a patchy surface layer. Nice lacing. Aroma of understated hop notes, dominated by grass, mild citrus and hints of white fruit. Underpinned by earthy yeast, caramel malt and faint stewed hops. Slightly sweet and surprisingly delectable.
Tastes of aromatic hops and caramel malt, with a dry finish. Notes of grass/hay, white grape, mild citrus, faint fruitiness, grain, earthy yeast and stewed hops. Well-attenuated, followed by a restrained bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with pleasant carbonation and a nicely judged body. Slightly astringent, with an aftertaste of spicy aromatic hops and earthy yeast.
Once again, the Williams Bros prove their mettle with another tasty effort. Looks good, while the aroma and flavour have a lovely balance of subtle aromatic hops and caramel malt. Yeast notes add depth to the character. Good body. Well crafted; goes down all too easily. Worth sampling if you come across it.
