Tucked into the large Stop N` Shop plaza on Route 25 in Newtown is Stop & Save Liquors. I had to run an errand down the road, otherwise, I may not have stopped in. Although it is unassuming from the parking lot, once you find the craft beer section on your right, things are looking up. Some of their selections are Allagash, incl. confluence & interlude, Cantillon, Berkshire, DFH, North Coast, Chouffe, Brooklyn, Sierra Nevada & others. It is priced in line with the other stores in the region. The staff is friendly and familiar their offerings.

Located in the Stop and Shop plaza on Route 25...on the way to Maltose Express. There's a Panera in the same plaza....their espresso is very good, BTW.
They carry a pretty good selection of American micros ....I was able to get some Oskar Blues Dale's Pale....lot's of Dogfish Head, Hooker, Lagunitas, etc.
The selection of Belgians was also good..I picked up some singles of Petrus aged ales...there were lots of 750s of Chimay, etc. Also, good selection of some single Germans and English beers.
I didn't ask for help , but the girl at the counter was pleasant enough.
I would probably stop in again when in the area.

Being almost identical to Yankee Discount in Newtown (I have heard they are the same owner), I gave it an almost identical review. They have a good selection of specialty brews that takes up a good portion of the right hand side wall. I really like how they keep the craft beers on the right as you come in and the cheapo "main-stream" beers in the back.

The only real gripe I have with this place actually has to do with a wine recommendation from the staff. I hope I don't get yelled at for talking about wine on this site, but, I asked for a decent champaign for my birthday and they brand they recommended was terrible.

That aside, it is a great place that I have come to many times and I am sure I will again.
