TBonz is a long time fixture in the Myrtle Beach area. I would not consider it a beer destination, but it's a good restaurant with a decent selection of beers.

The TBonz dining group owns Liberty Steakhouse, and most of the taps here are Liberty brews. They also have New South. The beers are good, but you won't find anything spectacular on tap here. The food is typical steak house fare, but it is better than many of the chain restaurants. I have generally found meals here enjoyable, and it's a reasonable place to take the family.

I was staying down the street for business, and having been to Dicks and the Greg Norman restaurant and many others here in Barefoot, I decided to give TBonz a try.

I sat outside and although it was about 95F outside, the outdoor area was well shaded and had plenty of ceiling fans to keep the area cool. I was surprised at how cool it remained.

Beer selection was okay. All of the beers are either house made or New South made, not sure which as some of the handles had different logos. The selection for the night was an IPA, a wheat, blueberry wheat, light lager, white ale. I chose the IPA and it was decent, though lacked the hoppiness I would expect from an IPA.

Service was pretty good. After sitting outside for around 4 minutes, I had to go inside to inform someone I was outside. After that, service was good.

This place gets packed in the summer so get here early and enjoy the happy hour specials ($2.50 pints and $5 apps 4-8pm).

Stopped in here while on a golf vacation with a large group of friends. Picked this spot because I knew they poured the New South beers and hadn't tried any yet. Had a couple of the brews and they were okay. Would have preferred a lot of bottled beers from the local package store over these, but they were passable. The atmosphere is somewhat typical busy steakhouse fare. Large and comfortable, wood and brass, dark with warm lighting and charming retro & beer oriented decor. The food was between good and not so good within our group. I personally liked my steak flavor-wise but it was full of fat and I left nearly half of it behind in a lard pile on my plate, but what I could consume was tasty, as fatty stuff usually is I suppose. Service was quite good, not fast but adequate. I didn't sense that the waiter knew much about the beers but he tried. There is outdoor seating that looked inviting but we opted for inside because of the outside temperature that night. Overall, as a beer guy, it was disappointing but not bad. New South seems to live up to it's marginal ratings from my quick experience here. There wasn't a large selection of beers either, and even worse, no big beers, just the drinkable variety for the vacation crowd as I guess makes sense for the businessmen. They did carry a number of macros on tap and in bottle if that constitutes selection. I probably wouldn't go back if i had to go out of my way but the beer is worth trying if you're in the Barefoot Landing vicinity.

In terms of atmosphere, I'm a bit torn about this place. Inside on an early Friday evening, it was pretty packed with families with small kids. However, the deck area off to the side of the main entrance was mellow, chill, and not a bad spot at all. The place had the feel of an upgraded chain type of restaurant, and it wasn't too bad or anything, just nothing too 'personal' feeling.

The server we had was knowledgeable enough about the house brews, and certainly was quick to keep my glass full and was on point for pretty much all aspects of the visit.

The food was actually really damn nice. Had a crab cake as well as the seared tuna salad. Very good, and I thought reasonably priced for what it was.

The brews produced for the place weren't anything really great, and the APA was about the only thing that even came in at the "b" level for me.

Overall, it wasn't a bad place to stop in for some dinner prior to a show at the House of Blues (which is not that far of a walk).

First thought when getting here was great another tourist trap. We had a long wait it must have been rush hour for the dinner time crowd in North Myrtle. Our condo was a straight shot out of Barefoot Landing to get here and everyone was hungry. Luckily while waiting there was a live animal show with lions and tigers for the kids, and a mechanical bull ride for 5 bucks that our 5 year old rode twice. These attractions were right outside the taphouse, my question is where is the brewing epuipment I didn't happen to see any here. My bro and I waited around the bar area with my 6 month old son, servers were very friendly and welcoming to the two men and a baby waiting for a table. I had the APA seasonal which was a decent SNPA clone, and my bro went with the Nitro tap with IPA running...weird. He enjoyed it and I tried a sample of it, didn't dig my hops with the Nitro draft action. Nut Brown Ale, Market Street Wheat, Copper River Red, White Ale rounded out the tap selection on our visit. I tried the others but I stuck with the APA throughout dinner. We had a relatively large party and once we were seated, we got excellent service from our waiter. I went with BBQ ribs and chicken with mashed sweet potatoes and a lobster bisque for a starter. Food was fantastic, everybody enjoyed the eats here while the brews were just okay, my seasonal was easily the best beer going on with crisp yet refreshing hop bursts. The brown and red were pretty watery, while the wheats were a bit off and really american style even the white didn't have as much wit characterisitcs as I would expect. I got a tee shirt to take home b/c my little one spit up all over the shirt I was wearing. Prices were reasonable and drafts were a dollar off from 5-7 every day.

These guys are from the same owners of Liberty Steak House, which is a brewpub on the other side of Myrtle Beach.
The restaurant is decorated in lots of wood from the hardwood floors to the medium sized bar. High ceilings don't seem to detract too much from the casual ambiance of this fun style surf and turf restaurant. Plenty of room to spread out and a few video games to play for a change of pace.
The quality of everything is good in this place. Nice beers, which may be served just a smidge too cold; however, this seems to be the trend in Myrtle Beach.
Service is very attentive and willing to grab you a new beverage, or place an order even before you get done your helpings.
The selection is decent. All brews on draft are craft brews from Myrtle Beach's own, New South Brewery. They had a Red Ale, a Nut Brown, an American Wheat, a Wit, and a Nitro poured IPA. They also had about a dozen or so macro's in the bottle.
Go during happy hour. Excellent discounts on draft beer and appetizers.
The food is good and the portions are large for one person to handle.
Not a bad deal if you go during happy hour. Otherwise, expect to pay the going rate for tourist meals.
