The colour is brown with a tint of red (50 EBC), the liquid is clear. The dark beige head is finger thick, it sinks quickly leaving no lacing on the glass.
The smell is very malty, it reminds mostly of sniffing a bag of brown malt. Some floral hops in the background. It is quite sweet.
The taste is malty with some metallic hops. Dense notes of caramel and milk chocolate. Very mild yet notable porter-like sourness. Medium body. Some sweet wort and metallic floral bitterness in the aftertaste. Hints of dough and caramel. The finish is all about the caramel notes.
The carbonation is quite mild, the mid-sized bubbles are long-lived. The liquid is mid-smooth.
A decent English brown ale.
