Decent IPA, well balanced and good drinkability.

Bottle from michael P. cheers to his full recovery. Orange tinted body, with one-quarter inch head retention. Mild C-hop aromas. Citrus flavour, 1.5X dose of hoppiness. Grows on me. Worth trying as different take on an American IPA, and good effort for Sveden.Average mouthfeel.

The colour is wine red - brown; the large head is beige.

The smell is fruity, hoppy and a bit bitter: Nuts, red wine, dried fruits...

The taste is very sweet and malty. Lots of citric notes. The more balanced (= less sweet) aftertaste got notes of sweet malt, grapefruit, dried fruits (apricots). Overall, the flavours are generous and big.

The mild carbonation got large bubbles. The liquid id smooth.

This ale might be a little too sweet for me; otherwise it is an OK take on the American-style ale. Dugges can do better.

Pours a nice red amber with a soapy, dish watery head that doesnt look too attracrive, nice beige colour though.

Smell is very hoppy! Reminds me alot of the first last years Sierra Nevada Bigfoot. According to the botttle this is hopped using only Centennial, so I'm guessing they had alot of it in Bigfoot as well. The nose is full of citrus and fragrant pine wood, quite flowery perfume notes as well, pelasant, but it's a little chemical as well.

Taste is initially woody as well, with some pine needles and citrus peaking througyh. A little bitter lemon and some biscuity maltiness as well along with a light finishing bitterness, rather fruity. Feels as if the hops are tired and have lost their potency really, and they really shoucldnt as I live in the same town as the brewery... Pretty sweet throughout.

Mouthfeel is sub par, really feels undercarbonated and a little fizzly...

Bought at Beer & Wine at Westpark for $8.00. 16.9 oz. bottle with a date that clearly showed "11" notched out (assuming the year) but couldn't figure out the month (N????) but since we've only had two months, it's likely fresh

Poured into snifter.

A - Dark ruby red and clear for the most part with a foamy head that starts out kinda nice but falls back to a 1/4" layer of foam.

S - Immediately I was hit with a fruity/estery banana smell that gave way to a slightly bitter dark fruit aroma once this thing had a chance to breathe. I couldn't detect a single thing that would ever make me think that this was an IPA in the smell or taste.

T - First impression was that this was more like a quad than an IPA. Taste carried a decent amount of dark cherry / plum and was a touch sweet until a bitter hang developed. A few other notes that were reminiscent of a quad included some delicate spicing and a fair amount of booziness in the finish.

M - Relatively thin bodied with a moderate level of carbonation. Aftertaste was more bitter than anything else.

If this were actually billed as a quad, it would have been an average one. The fact that they call this an IPA just floors me! It wasn't a completely objectionable drink, and in fact it could pass as a lighter version of either a dubbel or quad now that I think about it, but not anywhere near an American IPA.

Here's the Sex Pistols! Oh, my bad, too much punk in my formative years. So the brew poured a cloudy and light amber color. Solid 1 inch head at the pour and a rim of foam during the drink. No lacing but Sid was a fan of leather so I won't be offended.

The smell is really nice. Musky and sweet. Smells like grapes and a hint of brown sugar, followed closely by the spices of a strong Double. Stinks like a Quad and smells like a double.

The taste follows suite with the smell; a grape sweetness (almost like wine) with a spicy, musky, alcoholic finish like a quad but really smooth.

The mouthfeel is just fine. It does have a strong and unique finish but the beer drinks smoothly and lingers nicely on the tongue; not too bitter, not too sweet, not to hoppy: all characteristics of a real balanced brew.

Overall this beer is quality, the bollox! Smooth, flavorful, hoppy, tasty, strong and fuming with a hint of alcohol...really nice!

Had this beer on tap in Gothenburg Sweden while traveling on business. Best beer I ever had. Went back several times during the week with my colleagues and everyone loved this beer. If you are ever there, go to 3 Sma Rum and try it.

I'll try to add a better description later.

Bottle, at RBESG 2007 in Glasgow, Grand Tasting. Beautiful red colour. Nice hoppy aroma. Malty sweet and hoppy flavour, somewhat alcoholic. Could be better, could be worse.
