330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 7.0%. BB date 08.11.2013. Lumpy sediment in the bottle. Cloudy and very dark brown colour, moderate beige head. Pleasant aroma of chocolate, cocoa and mild coffee, hints of vanilla. The flavour is fresh and slightly fruity, fairly dry, again with notes of chocolate / cocoa, hints of vanilla and a whiff of smoke, moderate hops in the finish.

$ 7.47/16.9 oz bottle ($0.441/oz) at State Line Liquors, Elkton, MD
Undated bottle at 42 degrees into a hand washed and dried JK snifter, allowed to warm to 50 degrees. There are a couple of nicks on a dateline – between N and D and 11 and 12 – bottling date, BB date ?
Aroma of roasted malt, hint of licorice
Head small (< one cm, aggressive pour), light brown, very thin and skimpy froth, rapidly diminishing to irregular one to two mm ring and no layer
Lacing - none
Body dark brown/black, opaque.
Flavor – weak of roasted malt, stronger of licorice, no coffee. No hops, no alcohol, no diacetyl.
Palate medium, not quite creamy, nearly flat
Appearance 3.5, Aroma 4, Flavor 3, Palate 3, Overall 3.5

Enjoyed from the bomber in a snifter. This nice porter pours a deep dark muddy brown with a very nice head of light tan foam that subsides to a thick ring, thin layer, and light lacing. Nose of light licorice and coffee dances about subtle smoke, dark cocoa, and dark fruit. Flavors follow the nose with dark cocoa and smoked malts, light black berries in the middle, and light coffee with a touch of anise on the back. Mouth feel is lightly carbonated and coating with a lightly chalky smoked aftertaste but a touch thin. A solid brew from a brewer I am relatively new to.
Cheers
