The colour is mahogany (27 EBC), the liquid got some chill haze. The beige airy two finger head slowly sinks down, leaving thick layers of lacing.
The mild and balanced smell is very British: Semi-sweet fruity notes, caramel and toffee. Some dried apples and peaches. Smooth bitter flavours with hints of hay and a hint of oil chalks. I really like it.
The taste is surprisingly dry. Lots of somewhat roasted malty flavours: Dark bread, toffee, medium bitterness with some dried fruits and dried grass. Medium body. The aftertaste is dry with notes of chocolate, toffee (no sweetness) with semi-astringent notes of carambole and apples. The finish is dry, almost astringent.
The carbonation is light, the small bubbles mild. The liquid is a bit smooth and quite dry.
A classic British brown ale with a refreshing dryness that, at times, become a bit too much. It probably got something to do with the hopping.

The beer is clear brown with a mahogany hue, a bleak tan head that leaves loads of lacing and some curtains.
Much malty roasted tones, bread, porridge, but also some orange bitter notes.
Sweet bread tastes, then some metallic tones and citric bitter nuances, a yeast finish. A bit intrusive.
Little carbonation, medium body, slightly coarse with a dry finish.
Unfortunately this one did better in the glass than in the mouth ...

A: The color is hazy light brown with a large off-white creamy head that leaves only decent lacings.
S: Sweet roasted dark malts. Lots of coffee notes as well as chocolate. Some dark dried fruits. Liqourice.
T: Roasted sweet malt. Some bitter hops. Lots of chocolate and coffee. Some liqourice. Dark dried fruits lures in the back.
M: Dry bitter aftertaste. Body is creamy full and carbonation moderate.
O: A bit drier than other English Brown Ales, lacking the buttery creamyness, still rather nice.
