The colour is warm brown, a tad darker than most bitters (25 EBC). The liquid is clear. The finger thick pale brown head is airy; it sinks slowly to a thin lid leaving some lacing on the glass.

The smell is definitely British with malty-nutty flavours, some dried fruits and a smooth hay-ish bitterness. Very balanced.

The taste got a fresh bitter flavour and nutty malts that makes me think of rye bread. Metallic hints in the passing bitterness. Light to medium body. The aftertaste got a somewhat plain bitterness, dry nutty malt and touches of green grass and lactose. The finish is balanced and smooth with notes of pumpernickel.

The carbonation is quite strong, the small bubbles are short-lived. The liquid is light and a little dry.

The more I think about it, this is more of a light brown beer than a bitter. Still it is a very pleasant beer.

A: Clear copper color and a tall compact off-white head. Slow dissiptaion leaves decent lacings.

S: Dark malts, somewhat sweet, with licorice and rye breadyness. Bitter hops. Crisp bread and faint nettles. Well hidden in the back; raspberries.

T: Follows the nose, but the nettles are stronger. A metallic vibe in the back as in a German Altbier. A light buttery tone.

M: Lovely bitter aftertaste, short though. Body is medium and carbonation is smooth and light.

O: A just above medium Bitter, the rye-crisp-breadyness is nice, though.
