Boxing Day 2012 and the house is quiet again as our Christmas guests have left: I'm at one with the world and Grimsby Town have just won 4-1 at Lincoln: great.

Anyway I've got a 500ml bottle BBD of 25 Jan 2014 and poured it into an 'Old Speckled Hen' badged vase shaped pint glass.

Pale yellow/golden body with a slight haze to it: on top a full white crown of foam.

Piney hop nose and taste: crisp, tangy and zingy. Citrus hints arrive as the beer warms a little in the glass. Nice blend of flavours with a malty understated presence ensuring this isn't just about the hop content. Fruity notes throughout add to the complexity of the taste and enjoyment of the brew. OK more than brilliant.
