This is a small wine bar located on Mt. Vernon's main street. It is extremely fru-fru and is definately geared to the wine crowd with seven dollar chocolate squares and chesse plates and whatnot. Crazy mod furniture, low key lighting, jazz, paintings of no recognizeable subject matter, etc, have you braced for pretension but the friendliness of the knowledgeable staff quickly allays those fears. These people know ther wine and prbably their beer too, but I am afraid the selection is quite small. About ten well-chosen imports serve proudly as ambassadors of beer to the wine folks. If you should find yourself in our humble berg sometime, I highly reccomend stopping by to pick up a bottle and bringing it next door to the Lincoln Cafe, which will allow you to pair it with their killer food for a modest corkage. My favorite is the blue cheese burger, which is made with blue cheese produced in Iowa by Fritz Maytag, owner of Anchor Brewing.
