A hazed dark amber color with a small off-white head. A slight peat aroma along with caramel, toffee, and dark fruit. Maybe a little watered down in terms of the aroma. The flavor is quite similar to the nose. Caramel, toffee, and a touch of brown sugar. Further sweetness provided by dark fruits but counteracted a little bit by the peat notes.

Bottle reads "Dry Dock Wee Heavy" though based on other reviews I believe this is one and the same as 3 Heavy Scottish Wee Heavy. Poured from bottle to goblet the beer pours a rich deep brown color with mahogany amber edges when held to light. Small 1/4 finger white head with some retention and no lacing. The nose is sweet with strong caramel malt character, a hint of alcohol heat, and perhaps a tinge of earthy hop character, though mostly sweet. Similarly the flavor starts with a thick rich caramel malt sweetness that lasts throughout the beer. A medium bitterness couples with a earthy character is provided by the hops as found in the nose. Hints of toffee, roast, and coffee as well. Surprisingly there is no alcohol heat at all. Very smooth and creamy and rich. Full bodied with good carbonation. Overall, this was very good. I had been warned the bite was a little much when I purchased so aging for 6 months in the cellar really toned down the sharp alcohol flavors. Probably the most approachable Wee Heavy I've had to date. Treat.

[Best served in a Thistle glass]

The pour was a hazy dark mahogany with an average sized (1-2 finger) light beige frothy head that was mostly diminishing and had fair lacing.

The aroma was extremely sweet of a dark bread malt and a sweet doughy yeast with notes of molasses, caramel, toffee, dark fruit and a mild alcohol tinge.

The taste was heavily sweet and malty with notes of molasses and caramel throughout with the ending having a hint of dark fruit and toffee and a moderate alcohol finish. The flavor lasted an awesomely long time after the swallow with a nice sweet fruity ending.

Mouthfeel was medium in body and had a syrupy dry texture with a good lively carbonation.

Overall an extremely sweet and enticing brew that had a multitude of flavors coming together to create an very nice tasting ale.

Served into a tulip glass from 22oz bomber. Spot-on tan-brown color; thin head with nice lacing. Good complexity to the smell; a little toasty with some slight chocolate tastes; smokiness is very well balanced. A tad bit thin, but otherwise a really good beer! Many thanks to the guys at Ski Town Wine & Spirits in Steamboat for recommending it!

22oz. bomber served at cellar temp into a goblet.

Dark brown color with redish highlights. The thick head is slow to settle but doesn't leave any lacing.

Aroma is sweet and malty with a hint of smoke.

Flavor is also sweet, at least up front, but then there is a strong bitterness towards the middle with smoke, coffee, and leather.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth in carbonation.

Overall a really nice version of a wee heavy. The best in this area is still probably Old Chub but this is a close second for me.

On-tap sasonal at the brewpub. Smoke and chocolate in aromas. Dark brown colour. Cloying, not so drinkable because of coffee mixed with sugar and burnt parts. Overall, way too sweet and they describe it so. Lots of characteristics I am neutral on to not enjoying.
