Great Hefeweiss. Anyone who enjoys this style Weiss beer will enjoy this. Not the best,(I think that distinction belongs to Weihenstephaner) but very enjoyable nonetheless. I completely recommend this beer for Weiss fans or those who are interested in trying a new style of beer.

On tap at Croxley Ales in Franklin Square, New York.

Appearance: Dark opaque gold/amber color. Thick off-white head lasted for the entire beer and also laced quite well.

Smell: Cloves and malt with a slight hint of bananas.

Taste: Cloves up front followed by a strong malt and nutty flavor. Slightest hint of banana flavor (but no banana burps). Lemon citrus taste also comes through. What I liked best of all, though, is the malt taste, which was more prominent than in other weizens that I've had previously. Very enjoyable.

Mouthfeel: Very smooth and creamy.

Drinkablity: No astringency. Very drinkable.

Comments: I especially like the malty and nutty tastes. My favorite weizen to date. Excellent.

I got this one in the 1 pint 9 oz brown Euro style bottle with a lovelly landscape label.
Appearance: Nice sunshine orange witha very good haziness.A good sized solid creamy white head that lingers long. Good looking strings of carbonation rise to the top..nice looker.
Wow what an aroma, strong banana scents linger with fresh bread wondeful , makes the American Hefes smell like wimps!!
I can tatse immediatlly bananas, apples and even a touch of cherry in this. Also can taste some hop bitterness at the end. This beer is fairly crisp with a dry finish.
Pretty crisp , well carbonated..good but have had better mouthfeel from other kinds of beer.
Like most Hefe-Weizens, I found this beer very drinkable..a nice ale!

This brew poured a murky honey-golden color. The head was almost white and it was huge. It lasted the whole brew and it also had good lacing. The aroma was of wheat and mild fruits, citrus fruits that is. The taste is sort of grassy with slight hints of coriander. A slight bannana flavor is also present. The mouthfeel is rather thin but since the brew finishes fairly smooth I could probably drink several of these in a row. I'm not a big fan of wheat beers but I enjoyed this one.

Very cloudy burnt orange/gold in color with an enormous fluffy head. What a pleasant aroma...lemons and cloves. A pleasant tasting beer as well...lemons again, yeasty, a little spicy, and crisp. This is a solid hefeweizen. I'll be buying this again when summer rolls around.

This stuff is absolutely fantastic.

Pours a cloudy orange with a huge off-white foamy head. The nose was not as appealing as the taste, as it was a very yeasty smell, almost like an attic (maybe the clove?) with some definite banana tones. Very sweet and fruity (sweet banana and citrus) tasting. Ends with prominent wheat. Mouthfeel is good as it is crisp but smooth.

The drinkability is fantastic and it just makes you want to take another sip. The relatively low alcohol content helps also.

This one is just excellent. Fruity nose and palate with a velvet like mouthfeel. Definately a citrus nose and taste also. Dark and cloudy in the glass with a quick settling but nicely bodied head. Yummmy - Definately a must have. I thought I liked this out of the bottle but drat was a whole new level of quality for this beer. Excellent!

A new object of affection.

A beautiful, cloudy, orange-yellow elixir that pours with gusto. The head is abundant, light and frothy. The smell is sweet of candy and a note of clove and spice.

The initial taste is that of lemon, banana and spice. This drink is smooth, flavorful and full...and the lingering moments are just right. There is a tangy tickle that is left around on the tongue, which is accompanied by a slight tartness. There is a minor suggestion of a hop flavor to work along with the tart. Everything lingers around long enough, leaves...and then you realize you want more.

As I finish this brew, I wonder where it has been all of my life. This hefe would be a wonderful compliment to a spicy seafood dish. Hell, I'd drink it with toast.

Scrumptuous. Dionysus would do a dance right now.

Freshness dated 8-03.

Pours with a classic huge white head atop a cloudy copper beer with amber-tinged edges. Head shows good retention and leaves a nice lacing. Aromas of clove, yeast, and lemon burst forth, with a touch of grainy malt. A hint of pepper shows through as well. The taste is very full of the typical wheat crispness with hints of sweetness, and finishes slightly tart. The mouthfeel seems a bit thin, but it is very refreshing. Drinkability is good, but there's just a bit too much tartness in this one. A good beer, but definitely not all that high on my list of weizens.

Had a great fluffy head and was pale orange in color. The nose was yeasty and fruity. The taste was good with a lemony start and clementine finish. Also it had a little doughy malty sweet presence that gave this complex beer good balance. This is a rich and tasty Hefe Weizen that when poured into a large wheat beer style glass will make feel like your actually in Germany....close your eyes..

Also if lemon is your thing this would be a good one to add a wedge to because of it's rich and hearty weizen characteristics, it won't overshadow the flavors.

Pours a dark golden- yellow hazy color, has a creamy white head and leaves a nice lace in my glass, spicy yeasty aroma. Banana yeasty wheat flavor, some sourness, light-medium body, nice creamy and soft palate. has a very sweet finish. I think I had a bad bottle the first time I tried it, this one must be fresh.

Pours like a typical hefe-weiss, cloudy straw hues with a cream colored thick head. The head settles after quite some time leaving an intricate lace. Earthy aromas of wheat and yeast. Slightly dry with malty flavors at the start. Around mid glass a hint of sweetness, like a banana coated with honey, comes into play. Medium carbonation & fairly creamy. Very smooth and drinkable.

this beer is as cloudy as they come with a straw color topped with a mass of shite foam that sticks all over the glass as you drink. aromas of yeast and fruits come out at you.

a fine example of a hefe-weiss, this beer is medium bodied and full of flavor. it has a very well balanced array of flavors dominated by yeast and wheat. the malts are more toned down, but noticeable. there is a lot less of a fruity presence as i have come across in other hefe-weizens. tingly carbonation is there to provide the crispness you would expect. i would just have to say that this is a great example of a hefe. you could call this a solid textbook hefe. very enjoyable and very drinkable ; probably even to people who are not so fond of wheat beers.

This has got to be the smoothest Hefe I have ever tasted! Pours a cloudy, almost orange color with a slight citrus aroma. Crisp and clean smoooooooth beer. I've only had it from tap and I'm hoping to grab a sixer to get that bottle experience soon! One word...Yummy!

This is the hefe that started my love for the style. Nice golden color and a meringue like head that sits above the glass. Mostly clove flavors along with a little banana and lemon flavors. Finishes tart and crisp. A very good hefe, but given the option I prefer the Hacker-Pschorr Weisse.

This is a very drinkable hefeweizen. It has a nice fruity aroma and a smooth taste. It is great in the summer on a hot day, and all year round. I don't think it is my all time favorite hefeweizen, but I like it, and it is among the best.

Pours a lovely hazy golden color with a very creamy and foamy white head. Very aromatic with scents of citrus, banana, and clove. The taste is of ripe banana, sweet malts, vanilla, and honey. It is smooth and creamy in the mouth and quite refreshing. An absolutely magnificent Hefe. I could drink these all day long with no problem.

Paulaner Hefe-Weizen. A 1 Pint bottle that has a very colourful label, and depicts a beautiful looking German/Austrian landscape. It also contains the picture of someone’s head (again? hints of Déjà Vu, after the Aventinus last night!!).
PH-W pours a brilliant, but hazy straw yellow color that has a fantastic deep golden gold glow when held up to the light. A massive white frothy head that only calmed down to a lovely 1” depth after quite some time, which sometimes had an orange hue from the beer underneath.
A huge fruity introduction with bananas high in the aroma, at the start. Middle is stunningly refreshing with citric tones; finish is of wheat, with some cloves and vanilla in the slightly cloying aftertaste.
A fantastic beer, one of the best Hefeweizens I have had for a while. Whilst I find some HW’s a little too yeasty at times, this certainly is not.
A stunningly good, highly drinkable, great Hefeweizen. A straight 4 for me and the perfect beer to accompany a Hot Indian Curry.
I will be getting more of this, especially for the summer.

Paulaner has been a favorite for many years, and their consistent high standards, make it a standard to judge other beer’s by, at least in my humble opinion.

The beer on the pour a beclouded amber color, the head large and semi-creamy, the color a brilliant white as it erodes the left over lace forms a tight sheet to conceal the glass. Nose is malt, wheat, citrus, clean and fresh, the front is malt sweet with a decent grain profile, and the top is light to moderate in feel. Finish has a modest acidity, the hops delightfully spicy and the aftertaste sweet and day, a "Quaffable" beer.

One of the better hefe's I have had, it poured with a nice large foamy white head and left ample lace as I drank it. The taste was a little more malty and I detected a tad more hops than a normal hefe (maybe this is why I liked it so well). The mouthfeel was good you could almost feel the bubbles dancing on your tongue. A very good beer for us avcionados and also a good place for the novice to start...........CHEERS

Appearance: Huge sticky white head on a cloudy golden brew.

Smell: Fresh white bread (no, not the wonder-bread kind), yeast, and a hint of peach and banana. Very fresh smell.

Taste: Soft, chewy, and peachy. Very low and barely noticable hops.

Mouthfeel: Rather full bodied and thick. Feels like you might have to chew a little bit before swallowing. Low carbonation.

A Very refreshing beer.

I'll admit that I am not terribly familiar with the hefeweizen style yet, but this is a good brew. It has a cloudy dark orange color to it. Orange also stands out in the aroma as well as a few other flavors. The taste, which continues with orange, was great with an almost perfect blend of malts and hops. The mouthfeel is stimulating but a tad too much. The drinkability is good enough to drink a few of these but not too many.

Man, if there's a better Hefe-Weizen imported into the States, It's certainly escaped my attention.

This cloudy golden brew pours into a nice, creamy head that leaves spotty lace all the way down the glass. It's sweet clove aroma is very inviting.

Taste: This beer absolutely fills the mouth. A wonderful blend of bright flavors is present all the way through the finish; clove and bubblegum are among the most prevalent. This is a truly delicious beer. Honestly, from June through August I have trouble tearing myself away from it. It makes me wonder what the hell breweries like Pyramid, for example, think they're doing labeling their creations as "hefeweizen".
