Poured from an 11.2 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass, "best before" date 09/16.

APPEARANCE: pours a cloudy, straw color with less than one-finger white head that slowly dissipated until a thin, broken layer of small bubbles remained, medium carbonation, there is significant lacing on the glass.

SMELL: bread and banana.

TASTE: the taste follows the nose, bread and banana.

PALATE: medium body and carbonation.

OVERALL: this is a very good beer, I would recommend to anyone who enjoys the style and would have again.

0.5l bottle, in beer bar.

Look: When poured has nice golden color. Creamy head (large) that stays on top. Leaves no lacing.

Smell: Smells like fruit paradise with a dose of alcohol.

Taste: Tastes great! First note is delicious. Sweet aftertaste,

Feel: Creamy wheat beer.

A: creamy head, 1 finger, hazy amber color
S: sweet malt, caramel malt, banana, hint of noble hop spiciness
T: banana and clove, sweet and caramel malt again, hints of fruit
M: smooth and a tad sticky
O: great for clearing spicy foods from the palate, or just enjoying, this is a classic for a reason. It's not a thinking man's beer, or maybe it is when the thinking man needs a break. Not a lot to confuse here not a lot to mull over, just a really great beer.

Ps: very, very creamy and almost rich in a good way, there may even be the suggesting of vanilla here.

There's a reason this is possibly the most popular weissbier in Bavaria.

When had fresh, this beer stands with the giants of wheat beer. This is probably the biggest giant of wheat beer.

It's super cloudy, hazy, slightly orange gold with a big beautiful white head that sticks to the sides of your clean glasses.

It smells like banana and cloves, along with lightly toasted white bread. Even perhaps reminds me of the smell of flaky buttered biscuits from the other end of the house.

It's the perfect wheat beer. At some point these beers taste so good, that the differences are minimal. There's just different in the flavors they emphasize, with this one tasting more like banana than others. That doesn't mean it lacks clove, because it doesn't. No hop flavors detected, except for a slight zing towards the creamy finish.

I can often find this far fresher than other wheat beers - it's a go to. I'm surprised I had not reviewed this one sooner.

Pours a clouded golden color, with a huge, froth head.

Smells of clove, lemon peel and unripe banana among a pleasantly sour yeast pillow.

Drinks perfectly easy, utmost creamy on the tongue with a refreshing finish.

Tastes of peppery spices among a banana and citrus fruitiness, tied together by an awesome softness, resulting from the prominent, tart yeast. Has a white bread maltiness during the finish, together with ripened banana and a bubbly carbonation.

Very smooth, perfectly put together with a lemony, enjoyable twist to it, creating a satisfying refreshment.

As Hefe Weissen should be - as good as I have enjoyed ever. Try 6.

A - pours a very cloudy, tarnished gold amber body, with three fingers of dense, tight, opaque, frothy, and lasting off-white head, which leaves an irregular shards of lace around the glass as it almost never recedes until finished.

S - smells of grainy wheat, banana skin, orange peel, clove, and musty yeast.

T- Follows smell. The taste is blend of sweet and sharp wheat malt, ripe juicy citrus, clove, banana custard, grass, and astringent yeast. Complex and fresh.

F - Its carbonation is moderate, with a prickliness, medium weight, and smooth overall finish. surprisingly creamy has me upgrading the score along with clean, astringent finish.

As goos as this style ever gets. My fave H-W.

Pretty tasty! Cloudy orange pour with a nice off-white head with good retention. Smells of yeast, clove and faint banana. Taste is similar. Very well balanced. Really nice beer!

LOOKS: A cloudy burnt orange with very tiny bubbles rising. Nice 2+ fingers of pillowy off white head that stays around. Leaves a fair amount of lacing down the glass.
AROMA: Banana, cloves, big bready malt aroma, a little grassy.
TASTE: Exactly like aroma. The banana and clove notes linger a little in the finish.
MOUTHFEEL: Just velvety smooth right away. Then a bit of the carbonation kicks in. A little slick up front but finishes mildly dry.
OVERALL: This tastes like other brands I've had, like a popular US brand. The mouthfeel is a lot more smooth with this. I wonder how much the source of water is an influence with that. Great Hefe!

This hefeweizen pours to a giant, creamy ivory-colored head on a cloudy, effervescent deep-gold body; head retention is moderate, lacing is excellent (fine-grained swoops and splotches) and there is a moderate amount of yeast sediment to be found prior to the pour. The aroma is of an appropriately moderate intensity: spiced apple and wheat, with a more subtle yeast presence, and hints of banana and alcohol. The flavor is banana and tartish apple over an unexpectedly caramelish murky wheat foundation, with significant alcohol undertones and yeast bite. The finish is a flash of caramel, washed away by a wave of wheat; the linger is apple-wheat and lasts until the next sip. The mouthfeel is commensurate with the light-medium body and the texture is nicely creamy and medium peppery from the well-expressed carbonation. (11.2 oz bottle, 130 days before best-by)

Poured into a hefeweizen glass from a bottle with a best before date of 07/16.

Look -- Pours a hazy deep gold with three fingers of inviting creamy white head that leaves good lacing. Looks like a hefeweizen should.

Smell -- Bread, cloves, banana, a nice yeasty under-note and the slightest hint of something citrusy.

Taste -- Hits the tongue like it hits the nose, bready, clove, banana, yeast, a some tartness that makes me think lemon.

Feel -- Crisp and dryish on the finish. A has a nice carbonation that provides some body while keeping it refreshing.

Overall -- A very nice hefeweizen. I think I like Weihenstephaner more but I can't find anything flawed with this beer and I'd certainly not think twice recommending it for someone's first hefeweizen. It's very good and a beer like this just begs to cap mowing the lawn.

Plenty of haze and golden color, super fine white full inch of head on the top of the glass. Aroma was bready, spot on really.

Real soft touches with the wheat, the metal comes on with some banana esters. A little expensive in the single bottle. Its a neat beer to have once a summer for me, but hardly what I'm banging day to day.

Single bottle from HEB poured into a weizen glass. Looks great. Thick head, lacing, golden yellow/orange color, with slight red hues. Smell is uninspiring for a Hef. The spiciness (presumably from the yeast) is more prominent than the bannana/bubblegum sweet taste that you get from some American Hefs. It isn't a bad flavor, just more spicy than sweet. I may even describe it as slightly tart. A good, authentic German brew worth drinking, even though some American examples of this style may be more fun.

Paulaner Hefe-Weisbier has a very thick, bone-colored head, a hazy, gold-orange appearance, fierce, tight bubble streams, and heavy lacing globs left behind. The aroma is of mildly-spiced white wheat bread, with a bit of banana and coriander, but not a lot of that. Taste is of those elements, with a tap water component. Bitterness is low. Mouthfeel is soft and moderate, and Paulaner Hefe-Weisbier finishes mild and drinkable.

Bottle from Co-op. First real weizen in a long while. Pours out beautifully into a Paulaner weizen glass, thick fluffy head, the swirl of the bottle stirs up the sediment enough to cloud up the orange golden body. Aroma right on for the style, banana, bubblegum and clove. Taste also spot on, mildly sweet with some citrusy zing. Oh how I miss my German weizens. This brings back a lot of fond memories.

Pours a beautiful gold with decent head. Taste is average; almost a hint of sweetness; malty with banana. Some bubblegum, maybe? I know this will sound like sacrilege, but in a wheat beer battle I'd choose Blue Moon over this. Decent beer overall though.

Poured from an 11.2oz bottle (best before date June 2016) into a weizen glass. Consumed on 24Nov15.
LOOK: Pours with two fingers worth of white foam that halves itself after 30 seconds. Dull gold in color with an extreme amount of cloudiness. There is an abundance of rising bubbles ranging in size from very small to medium. Lacing is high in quantity and is both thick and very thick in various areas.
SMELL: Very strong aromas of wheat are backed by mild aromas of bananas and lemony zest along with subtle clove aromas.
TASTE: Very strong wheat flavors along with strong lemony zest flavors enter initially. Mild banana flavors immediately follow. Hints of cloves enter lastly as both wheat and lemony zest flavors grow stronger.
FEEL: Medium-bodied and extremely carbonated (this is practically burning my tongue). Goes down rough. This beer finishes with the absolute most crispness that I have ever experienced in a beer. Too bad the rest of the mouthfeel is near garbage.
NOTE: I love wheat more than the next guy, but there just an overwhelming amount that wasn't balanced out by the yeasty banana and clove flavors.

500ml bottle into a Weizen Glass. Paid £2.59 for a single bottle.

Pours a cloudy, rusty orange-copper coloured body with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation visible towards the edges of the glass. A tall, thick, foamy white head quickly rises to three-fingers in height and hangs around for an age, leaving dense, speckled lacing as it slowly fades.

The subtle nose leads primarily with soft banana, lightly malted wheat, white bread and a gentle clove spice that become noticeable towards the back end. Taste roughly follows suit. Bready, malted wheat leads upfront alongside a mild and delicate banana character. Equally subtle cloves and spice enter around the mid palate with a smooth transition from the initial sweet esters. Towards the finish a hint of lemony hops combine with a touch of lingering spice to give a pleasant, quick, clean and slightly drying finish. In the mouth, an initially plentiful carbonation and a light to medium body give a slightly prickly, but smooth feel, it sheds this carbonation quickly however, and the second half of the glass is certainly less crisp.

Overall this is a decent beer. It’s well balanced, easy drinking and refreshing but the flavours are subdued to my tastes. There are a number of better (or at least more flavourful) Hefeweizen’s available to me at a similar price point, so I can’t see myself picking up another bottle any time soon.

This is an outstanding example of a quality wheat beer. Makers of wheat beers, study this one. It is great all around. I don't really have anything negative to say about it. The initial drink down to the last drop and the aftertaste are all good for me. Great job!

Hazy deep golden pour with thin, yet dense white top. Aromas of tangy fruit and yeast. Semi-sweet, malt and banana come through in the flavor. Over-carbonated, as is common for the style. This is not bad, but there are better.

11.2 oz bottle poured into a .5L Eggenberg stange.

Pours a cloudy yellow color with inches of foam that rise above the edge of the oversized glass. Takes several minutes for the foam to recede to a drinkable level. Aroma is mostly banana and wheat malt.

Flavor is nice and yeasty with banana and bubble gum being the dominant flavors. Carbonation seems low, is it possible I poured this too heavily? Nice sweet flavor with the typical hefe yeast flavors.

Overall this is super tasty and very quaffable. An excellent example of a hefe, although it loses a few points due to the low carbonation.

Hazy golden with big head from aggressive pour.
Smells of banana and citrus.
Taste is clean and wet, not too sweet. Only a little hop at the finish.
Lots of carbonation. Refreshing and drinkable. Great for warmer days but solid enough for year round.
Overall textbook perfect Hefeweizen. Nothing weird or unusual but perfectly true to style.

Classic hefe. Not too complex but l'argent drinkable. Quite balanced and the ester notes are not too heavy. Perfect with pizza on a hot summer day watching football
