The brilliant, bright yellow beer is crowned by a pure white, thick foamy head. The hoppy, crisp, clean taste delivers on the consumer’s expectation; this is a beer that expresses the master brewer’s years of experience in a traditional recipe.

The Paulaner Pils is brewed strictly in the Pilsener style - with the best Hallertau hops providing its typical bitter aroma. Paulaner beer lovers like to tell each other the anecdote while toasting, according to which the pilsner originally came from Bohemia, but was created by a brewer from Southern Germany. And the Paulaner Pils does justice to that.

Seems to be canned 6/15/23. Drank 3/6/24.
Crystal clear light golden yellow. Huge dense chalk white head sits atop. great lacing. good retention.
Nose is grainy, bready, doughy malt. a bit of spicy hops.
Taste is toasted cracker, dough, light honey sweetness. bit of hop bitterness. I'm sure this 9 month old import isn't doing justice to the beer as it was brewed.

Clear, pale golden brew with enormous, rocky white head. Nose of noble hops and sweet malt. Soft carbonation; light body. Flawless malt/hop balance. Fine, gently bitter finish. A fine pelsner.

Wow, what a fantastic Pils this is. No clue how this isn't rated higher, as it ticks all the boxes for my tastes. Gorgeous big rocky head with great retention sits atop a clear light golden pour. Aromas and flavors lead from one to the other with a nicely balanced biscuity malt. Clean finish, and nice mouthfeel. Endlessly drinkable.

L: Pours clear light gold with a 1/2" smooth white head that recedes to a very thick skin. Large steady carbo bubbles, very good lacing with broken sheeting and loose banding.
S: Cracker biscuit bready malts, light grass, a hint of yeast, lightly floral.
T: Gently sweet with a touch of hop bitterness that is citrus zest, biscuit bread malts, moderately grassy, a touch of fruitiness, distant honey.
F: Crisp & clean medium light bodied with a fast finish that's not too drying.
O: Hits all the style marks with ease and this beer drinks with ease. Quite satisfying. Bittersweet and clean. It is excellent in its style.

Guessing my can isn't too fresh, but this German Pilsner only seems to be lacking a strong aroma. The malts take a little time or/and warmth to open up and bring the classic Pilsner notes to bear. Perhaps the age affected the nose, but the bitterness still shows up nicely - a little more pronounced initially, when the malts weren't really coming through. Pretty soft feel once the initial chill wears off, with a light biterness that holds on in the aftertaste.

500mL can packaged 12/12/22 BB 12/12/23 poured into a mug at fridge temp 4.8% ABV. The beer pours bright, pale yellow in color with off white head. The head recedes to an uneven cap and leaves some lacing. The aroma is grassy hops and pils malt. The taste is bittersweet grassy hops before crackery pils malt and slight metallic twinge. Firm, moderate bitterness. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with average carbonation and a dry finish. Overall, good (for a beer that spent 7 months at room temp or worse). I would gladly try again fresher.

Peppery floral and grassy flavor combination.

A: Pours a crystal clear and bright yellow color. A billowing and fluffy white head rises to over two fingers. That gently recedes after a minute, and leaves some lace behind.
S: A fairly neutral nose. More on the grainy, cereal, bready side. Not a lot of noticeable hops, which isn't a bad thing. Enjoyable enough, even if its not the most aromatic. Though to be fair, that is usually not the styles strong point anyway.
T: Oh, there it is. A nuanced malt character that goes from grains, baked bread, English biscuits and light honey. Just enough sweetness in the middle, until the spicy and grassy hops take over. Just enough bitterness to be noticeable and dry everything out.
M/O: A light body with crisp carbonation at first. That smooths out as this breaths. Wonderfully clean and finishes dry. Oh yeah, I can come back to this with ease.

An excellent Pilsner. That is all I really have to say. One that is really inviting with a surprisingly nuanced malt character, but is always balanced with just the right amount of grassy like hops. Highly recommended.

Poured from can into pilsner glass. Nice, thick head that slowly recedes into a thin layer; carbonation bubbles rise up like a lava lamp.

Smell is grassy/floral, taste follows the nose, but it is not as dry as some pilsners. Finish fades with carbonation and crispness. A classic.

Excellent German style pils. Pours to a model albeit fairly standard golden-straw color with a rich frothy head and a faint yeasty aroma. Not too bitter or floral like its Czech counterparts. Bready, crackery maltiness subtly eclipses the hop flavor. Very drinking, crushable, quaffable pils. Not earth-shattering, but great price and great drinking experience.

Pours a crystal clear deep straw yellow from the can with a big, frothy 2" white head, good retention and excellent lacing. Nose is lemongrass, lemon peel, fresh cut grass, and grain. Taste is mild biscuit, light and bitter grassy hop; slightly alkaline. Feel is super soft on the palate with light and prickly carbonation. Delicious and crushable.

Wait, what? Raul hasn’t reviewed this beer? It’s like at 13 years old, and turning to Claudia Schiffer’s page in your Victoria Secret Catalogue, but it hasn’t been glued together yet. Moving along to the present day… I don’t know if PP is up there with Claudia, but it gets the job done. I’m thinking more so Miss Macedonia 2023. Yep, googled her. That’s an easy putt!
