Pours a clear crisp golden color. Thick velvety white head dissipates leaving a partial coating of foam on top of the beer. Some foamy white lacing is left on the glass.

Aroma has notes of bread, cracker, and grain tinged with skunky hops and some honey.

Taste follows the nose with bread and gain up front. Sweetness throughout with a honey like flavor. Slight hoppy bitterness on the finish.

Feel is light, drinkable, with moderate carbonation.

Overall nice helles lager. Certainly one I'd drink again.

Has a refreshing, citrusy smell, also kind of smells like fresh pears and hay. Taste is pretty smooth, somewhat malty with a mildly spicy mouthfeel. Easy drinking.

L: brilliant gold permeated by streams of rapidly rising bubbles helping to extend the life of a 1/2" off-white blanket of foam with moderate retention

S: big cracker smell, fresh malts, light grains, bread crust, bread crumb and medium low levels of spicy hops

T: The malt flavors are moderate with a range of light melanoidins while the hop bitterness and flavors are slightly below the malt in intensity

F: The body is medium light and the carbonation is medium

O: This is a layered and complex blend of malt flavors nicely balanced by mellow hop bitterness and flavor

11.2oz bottle that reads "enjoy before 3/18"

Basic beer look, but decent retention. Smell is sweet malt and grass. Taste is wheat, malt, grass, fruit, and slight wine and alcohol flavors. Slick on the tongue but finishes dry, with a high amount of carbonation.

Very flavorful lager

A totally clear golden color. Active carbonation is visible, supporting a fine, white foam topping that recedes slow to a constant, fine layer.

The aroma has some very pronounced golden wheat and sweet corn in the malt scent, musky and herbal yeast and hops under that. Sweet barley malt with long grain and wild rice completes the nose.

The flavor spectrum includes: a very sour bready and tangy malt and lager yeast combo, green veggie hops, light grains with more sour notes of wheat and wild rice. Slightly herbal but tangy effect in the finish.

The mouthfeel is light, maybe a bit too relaxed and malty. Light at first with a long, cloying malty finish.

Certainly an authentic and classic version of this style.

Pours a crystal clear straw color with a frothy white head. It retains for a few minutes, however, it eventually dissipates completely.
In the nose I smell toasted malt, including a slightly burnt straw aroma. Was the burnt straw intended? This soon gives way to a sweeter malt and slight grassy hops aroma that smooths things out.
Impressions tasting it are of a medium bodied, clean, bready and malt forward brew with soft carbonation. There is a modest amount of grassy hops, light spice and lemon in the finish. There is a modest amount of malt sweetness towards the end.
A fairly simple and uncomplicated lager. I found it average, but perhaps I'm not used to the style.

L: Copper gold color with a medium white head and rings of lacing around the glass.

S: Grain and white bread, slight floral hop aroma.

T: Grain and watered down white bread, a slight hop. This is missing a bit of a hop bite I expect from a lager. Sweet but a little watery.

F: Light body and easy drinking.

O: This beer is a little watery for my taste.

Poured from a brown 11.2 oz. bottle. Has a straw like color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of malts, grains, some sweetness. Taste is mild, malts, crackers, easy drinking. Feels medium/light bodied in the mouth and overall is a refreshing beer, but there are more flavorful examples of the style out there.

A lighter bodied amber style lager. The ceiling for this style isn't astronomically high, so this is about as well done as you will find of a representation

500ml can (labeled as 'Münchner Hell') - nice to see more Old-School lagers coming over here from das Vaterland.

This beer pours a clear, bright medium golden yellow colour, with three zaftig fingers of puffy, chunky, and bubbly off-white head, which leaves a bit of melting snowbank lace around the glass as it quickly recedes.

It smells of grainy and cereal-forward pale malt, some toasted white biscuits, a touch of gasohol, subtle pome fruit esters, and some plain leafy, earthy, and floral noble hop bitters. The taste is bready and crackery pale malt, lightly buttered breakfast biscuits, overripe apples, ethereal petrol notes, and more understated herbal, leafy, and floral verdant hoppiness.

The carbonation is fairly tame in its quotidian frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and generally smooth, with a small airy creaminess seeping in as things warm up a tad around here. It finishes off-dry, the cereal malt and mild hops dancing a subtle little tango in seeing us out.

Overall, this is a rather easy-going and pleasant version of the style, seemingly simple, but with enough nuance to keep a more expectant palate from devouring itself in protest. I could see blasting these back after mowing the lawn on my corner lot this summer, perhaps as a complement to the nascent craft brew lagers being made in my neck of the woods.
