It looks, smells and tastes like pink grapefruit juice with ever so slight beery finish. Mild carbonation, and virtually no alcohol kick. Perfect for a long hot summer day when you don't want your drink to challenge and incapacitate you.

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, pillowy, off-white head of foam. It left minimal to no lacing. It smelled of grapefruit juice, orange and toasted caramel. Sweet grapefruit taste with a mild tartness. Subtle caramel backbone.

Im not gonna go into to much detail but this is just good stuff. Super easy assuming you like grapefruit. Absolutely an all day drinker. This feels more like 50/50 juice to lager where as Prost's out of Denver feels more like 60/ 40 lager. I just enjoy these

Paulaner Brauerei "Grapefruit Radler"

Notes via stream of consciousness: You have to rate a radler for what it is, which is soda pop mixed with beer. This one is only 2.5% ABV so you'd have to drink a lot of these to get drunk, and I'm pretty sure it's loaded with calories. It's a hazy pink, which was expected, beneath a full head of slightly pinkish foam. I can hear the bubbles bursting like you do with soda pop. The head is holding surprisingly well though; if it were a soda it would have no head at all by now. The aroma is of sweet, sugary grapefruit, pith and all. Except for the pith it smells like a pink grapefruit candy. On to the taste... it tastes like it smells. There's a light bit of beer to it, which is nice, but the sweet grapefruit dominates. Interestingly enough, you'll never find a grapefruit that tastes like this no matter how much sugar you put on it so it really is like a hard candy. I'm not finding any bitterness although I'm sure there's some there. It's not too sweet in the finish though, and it lingers shortly and then fades away. It's a little too on the soda side for me, but it's not bad. In the mouth it feels like soda pop. It's quite crisp with carbonation, and dextrinous. As far as this kind of stuff goes it's OK but there are better ones out there.

Taste: super refreshing, ruby red grapefruit, citrus, non bitter, sweet and dry, smooth mouthfeel. Same with the nose. Pinkish-Rose hue, hazy, with big foamy head and delicate lace. Medium light body. Clean thirst quenching finish.

Pours a very pretty rosy pink with a head that dissipates quickly. It smells lightly of grapefruit soda with a very slight undertone of malty generic beer smell. The taste has the same grapefruit flavor, but to a lesser intensity compared to other radlers. There's a very slight grapefruit bitterness on the finish. It's also less acidic feeling and tasting than other radlers, so you might enjoy it more if you have that problem with fruit beers. It's highly carbonated and goes down more than easily. Overall not bad for the price but definitely not the best radler.

This is an exceptional light beer! Just great, great, great! It has subtle sweet grapefruit flavors without the acidity or the alcoholic content of most grapefruit beers. Excellent!

Poured from a 16.9 oz. can. Has a hazy pinkish color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is dominated by fresh grapefruit. Taste is grapefruit, sweet, very easy drinking. Feels medium/light bodied in the moth and overall it's decent, but drinks a little more like a soda than a beer.

16oz-ish can poured into a nonic; pours the color of grapefruit soda and nearly as carbonated; pink body with a touch of haze, minimal fizzy white head and no lacing; smells and tastes like grapefruit juice with a well-carbonated backbone and a touch of a bite to remind you of the presence of malt beverage; sweet and tart, prominent citrus and sweet pink grapefruit. Not much else to say, very easy to drink.

16oz can from Homebrewstuff. Pours out the color of pink grapefruit. Light pink foamy, airy head quickly dissipates to nothing. Aroma and taste both reflect the grapefruit juice. Not much to this beer but it's perfect on a hot summer day.

L: Looks like straight up grapefruit juice, no head.
S: Grapefruit candy with a little bit of sweet wheat, lemon candy.
T: Lemon lime grapefruit candy with an aftertaste of wheat and sweet hops.
F: Very refreshing, high carbonation, smooth.
O: Tastes like a sweet grapefruit lemonade with a little bit of malt, wheat and sweet hops. At 2.5% this is a great day drinker.

What a coup for The CANQuest (tm) to find this in a four-pack of shrink-wrapped CANs during my latest visit to the Friendly Greek Bottle Shop (FGBS)! I am very excited to drink, review & rate this one.

From the CAN: "Brewed in Germany"; "Since 1634".

I pulled out my 0.5L Paulaner glass stein especially for this ocCANsion. It came in a 550-ml CAN so it barely made a dent in filling the stein, but it was all okay by me. I Crack!ed open the vent & gave it an inverted C-Line Glug for the first time in quite a while. It foamed nicely to form two-plus fingers of foamy, soapy, rocky, pinkish-white head with modest retention. Color was a lightly-hazy light-pink (SRM = N/A). Nose was definitely of grapefruit, but it was much less sweet than many radlers that I have encountered. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, not watery, but not far beyond it, either. The taste was not purely grapefruit, but more akin to Ocean Spray Pink Grapefruit Drink (note: NOT Juice). It was sweetish, but neither sweet nor bitter/tart. Finish was semi-dry as a result & highly refreshing after a night's work at the post office. YMMV.

500mL can
L: pinky hazed body with a tall and fizzy white head that disappears quickly
S: sweetened grapefruit, biscuity grain
T: tart & sweet grapefruit juice, light lager, Munich malt, modest earthy hops
F: light and effervescent, tart/sweet/tangy finish
O: even though it is touted as being much less sweet incomparison to its counterparts, it is still quite sweet for me. I like the bold frapefruit notes and it received some lower category scores, it gets the 4 overall as I will buy this all summer.
