I agree with the other reviews with one exception: this store carries Pliny the Elder. Actually, it is quite strange that they do, for, as the other reviewers mentioned, the rest of their selection and quality is average or below average. However, they almost always have Pliny, and as a result they have a dozen or so regular customers just who shop there solely to buy up their weekly stock. I think they may have a few other interesting beers, but I haven't been there enough to comment.

The service is what you might expect for your neighborhood liquor store.

This is a good store if you're looking for Bud/Coors/Miller/etc. but it's not a place for craft beer.

It's a very typical liquor store; nothing special about it at all as far as I could tell. They had more than just the beers I mentioned, but none of it was out of the ordinary or special. The standard beers were in the cooler, while the "better" beers were on a shelf beside the coolers.

I walked out after seeing nothing of interest, but forgot to check the prices of what they had. Since I have to select a "value", I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and select "inexpensive". Definitely not a stop for lovers of craft beer.

There's virtually no reason to shop here for beer with the exception of the fact that all the beer is refrigerated. Yeah, they have a few things including some bombers of Bear Republic, some Sierra Nevada, and some Sam Smiths among others, but there is absolutely nothing here that you can't get at BevMo a few blocks up or Andronico's or Whole Foods. It's an ok liquor store that gets a lot of the Stanford business and offers kegs of macro crap and a few good deals on 12 packs of Gordon Biersch (bleh) and Session Lager. Claim to fame is giving students free liquor on their 21st birthday.

Basically, avoid, unless in search of a 40 of a Steel Reserve, King Cobra, Bud, or Mickey's.

Run of the mill liquor store. Had a few things that were okay, including a few Bear Republic offerings like racer 5 IPA. I went in looking for a six of Lagunitas IPA (pretty common stuff round here), but they didn't have it. Guy behind the counter couldn't care less. Definitely better than A1 liquor next door, and okay in a pinch. All the beer is refrigerated, and they do have some okay 22 ozers. Go to Andronicos or Beltramos if along this strip of El Camino Real. Palo Alto itself is pretty lacking in great beer, which is kinda shocking given all the money here- guess that says something about the neighborhood, though.
